ok,, I just could not resist this one.. even though I don't need it nor have room for it..
But...
Welcome my newest sewing machine..

it's a White 769

easy peasy to use,, sews awesome.. and makes fabulous easy peasy button holes...
It was made between 1964-68..
Even though the machine has a carry handle,, it weighs a ton! lol!
But, the face plate is missing.. the foot plate is there so my hubby can fabricate the missing plate.. I suspect someone 'took' it as it had a Kool atomic design on it.. but,, I will keep my eyes open for it or at least a plain plate like the one on the 764 White machine...
Oh and it was only ... $15

Grace---your machines are beautiful--and I cry because I don't have time to sew on one. Girl---you have got it made. You rock for sure.

She sure is awesome, isn't she Gracie? But you sure need to give yourself more credit! The student's work beautifully reflects the teacher's!

You should start a sewing machine museum with a sewing shop and workshop, Gracie, and a vlog, and give classes on how to repair, maintain and use the old machines. I bet more and more people are turning to purchasing second hand and older machines, and I bet you would be very popular for your knowledge and know-how!!! Not to mention that home ec isn't taught in schools anymore, at least not like we had growing up. People just don't know enough about skills like this nowadays. I know I would personally soak that right up - especially if it was you leading the charge!!

Hugs,

What a cool machine! I hope you can find that plate. I haven't seen that model before and love the handle on it. Those older machines were built to last; lots of metal, no wimpy plastic like todays new electronic marvels that are outdated in 10 years.

Nini,, I sooo agree...

Linda,, yep, searching the web...

As for now I am not doing any on-line purchasing or mailing until things calm down... big rigs on the side of the roads due to the hazardous fires and winds.. btw.. Linda,, I will mail your pkg out on Friday.. should be ok by then.
