I looked to see if there was already an Air Fryer topic started and could not find one, so if I missed it please let me know. Recently my daughter gifted me an Air Fryer, it was a small one she bought for her family of 4 and after using, really liked it and went bigger. I was a beneficiary of her new purchase. How do you use your Air Fryer, recipes, tips, tricks, advice? I have done hot dogs, tater tots and a salmon fillet, I cooked the salmon too long and it was a little dry, trial and error, right?

Gail, my mom gifted me one, too, last year. I wonder how I lived without it and my Instant pot. Between the two, there are less dishes and no need for takeout! For the air fryer, remember to put a little something like a brush of oil on your racks. Things tend to stick if you are not careful, but other than that, it is easy. You don’t need much oil, that is for sure! It also makes perfect meatballs, just mix them together and put them on the racks. No burning outside, all cooked inside. Same for sausage (I do not make my own sausage, but they cook so evenly). Roasted potatoes and veggies are fabulous in it, but don’t try frozen veggies like brussels - too wet.

Have been thinking about one of these. I need something that cuts down/out the use of oil.

Today I tried acorn squash in my air fryer - it was good, I will have to adjust the time or cut the pieces more uniformly, because a few pieces were a little dry. I did the sweet version and added a little olive oil to the mixture and then tossed the squash pieces in the mixture. Here is the recipe:
1 acorn squash, cut in half, seeded and then cut into quarter moon shapes
Mix together, olive oil, I didn't measure, I think about 2 Tablespoons
1 Tablespoon Honey, I eyeballed that too
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
I added some ground ginger
I tossed the squash in the mixture and set the air fryer to 375 and set the timer for 20 minutes. I did preheat the air fryer for a few minutes first.
There is also a savory version
Mixture of olive oil
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
Same time and temp in air fryer.
I will probably try different spices, I have an abundant of squash to try with.

Thank you Jaime - I like the egg idea! I'm marinating some bone in chicken thighs and am going to try those, I will report on the outcome.

We recently got one and I truly love it!!!

So far we have done all those breaded type items from the freezer that we normally bake in the oven and that taste BEST when fried. All work great! I do have to play with times vs. temps.

Frozen Chicken Patties - 400 for 4 minutes on each side (I flip halfway thru)
Frozen Chicken Nuggets - 400 for 10 minutes, flipping part way thru
Frozen French Fries - 400 for around 10 minutes for a single serving - tossing part way thru - A full basket of fries takes closer to 20. I toss them in olive oil and spices first and then throw in the Air Fryer
Frozen Burger Patties - 350 for 8-10 minutes
Baked Eggs - I crack a couple eggs into a mini springform pan and cook for 8 minutes or so - gives me a similar result to the eggs in a McDonald's Egg McMuffin

I've done chicken breasts that were frozen in a marinade, then thawed - I can't remember how long I did them. Probably at 325 degrees - checking temp after 8 minutes or so?

Sorry, obviously I'm still learning!!! But it makes it so easy to quickly make things!
