You know, I have to share... my husband was adopted, he grew up thinking he was 1/2 hispanic and 1/2 irish, he has the most amazing blue eyes and dark hair. At any rate, we completed our DNA tests last year and low and behold, not an ounce of irish in him!! LOL!! He's french! St. Patty's is still close to our hearts and our boys still love to celebrate even though they are getting a wee bit older these days! Our wee and since transitioned to Oui Oui according my my youngest ( and accompanied with a little wee raise of his eye brow! )

I missed the sign up deadline for this swap and was very disappointed for having done so. But, lo and behold, I received a surprise St. Pat's envelope from Debbie (Blessed in Colorado [now in Oregon]). How very sweet of you, Debbie. I will be wearin' of the mask on Wednesday, to be removed only while we have our traditional Corned Beef & Cabbage. "Thanks a million"!

The little red hen asked her friends, "Who will help me plant the seeds ?" "Not I," barked the lazy dog . "Not I," purred the sleepy cat . "Not I," quacked the noisy yellow duck . "Then I will," said the little red hen .

Niki! I received your St. Patrick's Day package yesterday, what a treat! I can't wait to try the Irish Soda Bread recipe, I've never made it before but it's legendary! I am now ready to celebrate in style with my shamrock headband, swanky beads and adorable socks (raccoon leprechauns, who knew?!) I love the tea rest with the Irish Luck Blessing, and the teas will be enjoyed soon, for sure! Finally, the notecards are adorable! Thank you for all the treasures you sent me!

Ah, great minds, etc.., etc. . . . Our St. Pat's day celebration sounds almost identical to yours, except substitute Irish Soda Bread for the gluten free buns and I'll be wearing my beaded green Tiara all day long. And, I tell Himself every year not to get any highfalutin' ideas when we watch "The Quiet Man" -- he'll not be dragin' me across the moors.

Oh Jean how happy I am your St. Paddy’s goodies arrived when it was suppose to. I had fun picking it all out for you.

We have our corn beef, cabbage, carrots, onions and of course Guinness Beer. Our Son will make my gluten free Irish buns the morning of. Yummy!
We will be wearing the green, buttons, pins and scarf. We will of course watch The Ouiet Man as it is a tradition in our house. Just love the movie!

What do y’all do to celebrate? Do you wear green?
Thank all of you for making this swap so much fun and signing up.

Well, lookit here what I got from Debbie to help me celebrate St. Patrick's Day . . . A wonderful book to read, Delightful Country Sampler magazine, Lucky 4-leaf clover stone, Irish tea, a beautiful, beautiful sea glass, necklace and adorable earrings. Not to mention a Starbucks treat card and a yummy Fischer Family Corned Beef recipe. Thanks so much Debbie for everything and your sweet note and fun St. Pat's card. I'm going to wear the mask,, earrings and necklace tomorrow when I go for my second vaccine shot. And, we'll be hitting Starbucks for a treat on you for sure. BTW here's another really good way to use your leftover Corned Beef.

REUBEN CASSEROLE

1 lb. sauerkraut, drained
1 lb. corned beef, cut in bite sized pieces
12 slices Swiss cheese
¼ cup Thousand Island dressing
6 slices rye bread, torn into small pieces
1 cube butter or margarine, melted

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray, oil, or butter. Spread sauerkraut evenly over the bottom of the baking dish and season to taste with salt and pepper. Layer corned beef over the sauerkraut. Layer the swiss cheese over the corned beef. Spread the dressing evenly over the cheese. Toss the bread crumbs with the melted butter and spread evenly over the top of the casserole. Bake for 30-45 minutes till heated through and bread crumbs are beginning to brown.
