Well, I survived the marathon on 5 July. I wanted to run 42 km for my 40th birthday - just a bucket list sort of thing! I ran along the beautiful Brisbane Valley Rail Trail & the weather was perfect. My dear husband was race photographer, support vehicle (on his bicycle giving my drinks) and cheer squad. My friend rowed the marathon at the same time and we face-timed each other as motivation. Here's a before and after pic - that's me just having a little post race nap at the end!

I ran in the "Sisters Happy Girls' Half-marathon" on Saturday morning. I must say that when I awoke on Saturday morning to sub-freezing temperatures here in Bend, I wasn't such a happy girl to be getting out of my warm bed to run a half-marathon. I started wondering why I signed up for this event in the first place. It quickly turned into the "Grumpy Girls" half-marathon as my husband drove me out to the town of Sisters. Anyway, despite all of my whining, I completed the race & felt all the better for it.

Woot! Woot! So proud of you, Cindy! You are truly inspiring and your story is motivational for me! So much I still want to do, seems so easy to get stuck in a rut and then wonder where time went. You remind me that the time is always now!
