We had so much fun and so many very nice denim gifts many of us wanted to do this again. I am hoping you will join in on this swap to make your swap partner something using an old pair of denim jeans. You can find jeans/denim in thrift shops and garage sales, if you don't have some on hand.

You will only swap with one partner.

There are many items on Pinterest using denim jeans: aprons, purses, Christmas ornaments, Christmas stockings, wall pocket organizers, and more. If you are like me, we don't need any more tote or shopping bags, but purses, computer bags, and cell phone cases can be handy. Here is just one Pinterest link- scroll down the page to see lots of ideas. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/3940718410550013/?utm_campaign=category_rp&e_t=62ce741d235249d391e5e39f3ef9ffe5&utm_source=31&utm_medium=2012&utm_content=3940718410550013&utm_term=11&news_hub_id=5186404114275288717

Pinterest is a super place to find great Recycled Denim projects. Or adapt a pattern you love to denim. So many great ideas. In the first Recycled Denim Swap we were gifted a hat, purse, organizer, rug, pumpkins, notebook cover, banner, zippered bag, Feathered wallhanging, embroidered patches, trees, wreath, pillow, clothespin bag, and more. So many creative things. What can we come up with for this swap?

If you have made things out of jeans, please let us know what you make. It's fun to find out how others recycle denim.

Signups until September 22, partners posted September 23rd.
Sendout no later than October 15, just in time for fall. Start making your projects now so they are ready to send out.

I hope you will join us!

After signups, please contact your partner for address. If you don't get a response please let me know and I will try to contact them. I can't wait to see your creativity.

Partners:
Linda (quiltee) and Dianna (Suny58)
Marie (Churunga) and Wanda (Wanda Sue)
Marilyn (TexasGran) and Gwendolyn (gwennierenee)

Luckily, I do difficult things all the time and I have the callouses on the sides of my fingers to prove it.

Marie -- it's lovely! It isn't the easiest thing to do, hand stitching on denim.

Marie I didn’t mind waiting one bit, and it was worth the wait! Love and prayers for you!

I apologize for how long it took to make. I had an old friend taken to ICU in September. He was not awake and on life support because of multiple system and organ failure. I was at the hospital every day and was present when he died. I still have some feelings to process. Working on the embroidery was very calming and centering. It helped me so much.

The ribbon embroidery was most difficult.

I received this ingenuous item from Wanda.

It is a hanging pocket. It is so amazing. She also made two coasters of recycled denim. I love the yarn. She included 3 magnets and 2 push pins.

I just wanted to say that I received my swap from Marilyn today. I just absolutely love it. I will get a picture later but I wanted to get my thank you posted as soon as possible. It’s an absolutely adorable denim apron…two of my favorites together in one. Thank you so much.

Linda, funny!! I DID sell them about 4 years ago! I was SO BUSY!!! :0. But then I made the mistake of taking orders and several people never paid for them so I quit. :( Maybe I'll make a couple and post them. They sure are fun to create
