Well garden clean up and put to rest.
Hubby constructed a new compost bin for me.

So, funny find, while out walking the fence line I spotted a fern looking plant... When I got up closer I realized what it was!!!

Yep.. Asparagus... How the heck did it get there??? I do have asparagus in my garden, but no where's this big!.. ahh the mysteries of gardening.

Yep got it marked...
I suspect the reason for never noticing it is, we grow (not for profit) livestock hay,, and it gets cut and bailed each growing season so I never noticed the asparagus.. but because this years crop was so sparse, we didn't bother to cut and bail the hay summer, I am guessing the asparagus was inadvertently cut and bailed with the hay... It takes several years for asparagus to grow substantially enough to harvest.. and i am guessing this grouping has been around for 3 or more years... so I will be keeping an watchful eye out on it for next year... Yum!

Mark that spot Grace for next spring and watch for it. I have my garden cleaned up and tilled up. I enjoy each season of the garden, but am glad when it is done. time for a rest and enjoy our hard work all winter.
