Posted - Nov 21 2021 : 5:07:12 PM I am planning to bake some cookies for Christmas gifts this year. Choc-chip cookies, Orange & White Chocolate, and Raisin & Oatmeal. Homemade jams and preserves are also a nice idea with a pretty fabric cover tied over the lids!

Posted - Nov 13 2021 : 05:34:41 AM Wow Candy, that is a lot of work! I also like to do the gifts in a jar. They make things so easy for the recipient when its needed. I did a case of them and wrapped them back up in the canning jar box for my daughter for her wedding shower years ago. She loved it! She said her husband wanted to put them out for decoration because they looked so pretty. LOL.

Posted - Nov 10 2021 : 11:33:24 PM I make a special fudge recipe passed down from my Grandmother. Her sister worked for Sees Candies in the 1920's and they don't make it anymore, we have the original recipe. Every Christmas we make 50 pounds of fudge. Since it is made only once a year, everyone craves it. I also have done Jams & Jellies as gifts, or made cookie sample boxes. Have fun* Candy Hogan # 8283 |

Posted - Nov 06 2021 : 08:58:14 AM Sometimes I like to send jams that I made over the Summer. Also I send cookies to a couple of people as well. Every year seems different as we are aging and health issues make it hard for sugary treats anymore

Posted - Nov 01 2021 : 1:55:02 PM The first few years after Mom passed I made Dad a big box full of plastic bags with various mixes with instructions: Biscuits, cornbread, cobbler, soups, etc. -- all things he could mix up easily.

Posted - Oct 24 2021 : 10:40:35 AM I have given homemade cookies and fudge in decorative tins. I also did up scone recipes & the dried ingredients in glass storage jars from bachelor friends. As Michele said, make sure to include the recipe!
Personally I think a homemade gift of any kind is the best gift of all! Enjoy making your own goodies as gifts.

Posted - Oct 23 2021 : 08:30:26 AM I make cookies every year for the last thirty years, usually 10 or 12 different cookies and bars. Now that I am retired my list has shrunk, so I now make fabric boxes and bags to put the cookies in. I also make and add Christmas Jam to each bag.

I used to have the recipe for Russian tea made with Tang. If anyone has that recipe I hope you will share it with us. Russian tea with pretty tea cup makes a tasty gift.

Posted - Oct 23 2021 : 05:21:48 AM Different canned goods works. Jellies and Jams always a favorite. I have done mixes in a pretty jar too. Maybe with a measuring spoon attached, Like pancake mix. Of course include the recipe. You could wrap the jars in a pretty kitchen towel, make a basket up. I have done dried herbs too. Start with a theme and build on it from there, for each person. Happy gifting!!
