After talking with some farmgirls I wanted to let everyone know I'll be doing a pot holder swap in Feb. and an apron swap in March. I know some of you are snowed in (lucky girls!) and are looking for something to do.
This is NOT where you sign up - that will come later. This is just an FYI if you wanted to start working on some early.

So I have been missing our tea swaps and thinking a lot about them. I'm wondering if we could kick off interest with a "one-time" cuppa tea swap (with tea related goodies) and then use that to generate interest in restarting our monthly/possibly bimonthly tea bag swaps.
Let me know what you think or if you have any ideas - I would be happy to host the swap and see if we can get this restarted.

I don't know if I want to start the tea swap again. To be honest, I haven't been feeling well --- not physically sick --- kind of heartsick. I may feel better about hosting a different swap such as a dish cloth swap. I get discouraged when less than 5 people sign up. <sigh> Nothing I can do about that.

I really enjoyed our tea swaps - I took a break for a few months since I knew I would be traveling a lot with my new grandbaby. I'd love to be a part of it again now that I can be a little more reliable mail-wise.
I didn't mind the loose teas - in fact they were some of my favorites!
I'll keep an eye out for any upcoming tea related swaps :)

Oh yes, the second run on a teabag is so weak! At work I drink at least 3 cups a day. Keeps me going to the restroom too.

Me too Audra! I some times put 3 different flavors in a Pyrex measureing cup and microwave them together. It’s pretty tasty! Then add lemon as well.
I like my tea strong. It depends on the flavors though..

I realllllly miss the tea swaps. I'm an adventurous person - I even tried the Aloe Vera tea Marie sent (it tasted about how you'd think :<). The different flavors I receive expand my tea tasting horizon.
That said, I have a bunch of sleep inducing tea because I don't need it.

Maybe we should mention the kind of teas we like or allergies if there are any to of them. When we sign up.
Sounds reasonable to me. I find teas that sound good to me and then I want to share but if someone is allergic or don't like them we could know that or find out what flavors are liked because there are so many new ones that come out. They sound good to me but maybe someone else don't like those flavors. I don't mind if the ones I send are shared with others.

I re-gift things. There are things I receive that I can't use due to allergies. Certain candy, or certain scents. I would think it nicer to do that.

Hmmmmm, maybe consider a "Tea Time" swap where one could send 4 tea bags OR a mug rug OR a tea cozy OR some little tea tool OR some honey sticks OR . . . . just as long as it is tea related . . . just a thought. And, boy do I have a new embroidery project that will fit right in and blow your mind. And, of course, we can always stash the teas we get for future swapping. For instance, I will confess, so take away my birthday -- I cannot abide green tea at all, so I stash it and use it to send out. No biggie . . . problem solved.
Any other ideas to brighten up and resurrect the tea swaps? I don't enter every month, but enjoy them when I do.

Yes, I know. I buy a lot of Celestial Seasonings which do not have covers for individual tea bags. I have put them in small zip lock bags labeled with the tea's name. I hope we can find a solution for the loose tea problem.

This is not a complain, just an observation. I love the tea swap but quit participating, because I only buy loose teas and was asked to only include packaged tea bags. Again not complaining, I understand the reasoning I think, just not workable for me.

Woo Hoo, you betchum Red Ryder . . . starting on pot holders as we speak and thinking about an apron idea. . . it's really, really "different". I'm so happy to have some fun swaps to work on. I've missed them. So here it is only January 2 and we have our plans in the works for "The Year of the Pansy Potholders" . . . Yiippie Kai Yaay off to plant a little pot of Johnny Jump Ups to sit in my my kitchen window !!
