I have many many things all over the house from My Aunt Glenda.
She passed away in July at 106 years. Still at home and her
thinking process still good. She will be missed.
The picture is a table cloth she gave me a long time ago,
she said she made it in the late 1930's. Well I kept
it wrapped up and in a drawer for years. Then a few
weeks ago I thought well that's just crazy. So I put
in on the kitchen table where it belongs. I'm pretty
sure she would be happy about knowing its out of
of hiding and being appreciated.

I have seen those beautiful tablecloths too. I can't imagine how long it would take to make one. If I had spent all that time, it would be hard to actually use it for a meal for fear it would get stained and ruined.

Enjoy the love that went into that tablecloth, it is beautiful. I have always felt that we should use items, and enjoy them. If they get broke or stained, at least it was loved and used.

Nancy Jo, that table cloth is beautiful! I would love to make my own someday. I definitely agree that she would be happy knowing that it’s being used. I hate making things for others that they don’t use. My mother is the worst. Any time I make her something she just puts it away for safe keeping lol. I tell her I didn’t work that hard for it go unused!

I love your table cloth! Interesting side note - my mom's name is Glenda. She likes to crochet too but I don't have a tablecloth from her :)

Sorry to hear of your Aunt Glenda's passing. I know you enjoyed times with her. That is a beautiful tablecloth.

I remember JT's grandma saying her mom would see something crocheted in the window of a little store in their town and she would study it and then go home and work on it. She would continue going to look at it until she got the pattern right and made her own. That seemed very dedicated to me.

I'm sure your aunt would love that you have it out.

Beautiful memories and tablecloth from your late aunt, thank you for sharing them with us. You are right, it was meant to be seen & used. I'm sure your Aunt Glenda would be happy to know that you are giving it a new life.
