Thanks Michelle. We have been asked by our power provider to conserve energy from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. so I have put my canning on hold till fall. The days of me getting up at 3 or 4 a.m. to can are gone. Up-side is I have more time to watch the bees & butterflies.

Karen, I have two galvanized wash tubs of zinnias. One has all large yellow zinnias, and the other has mixed color and type of small ones.
The tubs are close to the okra which is in full bloom so the bees like the okra flowers too.

Sara, zinnias are a favorite of mine. They are so beautiful and look amazing in arrangements! :)

My sisters came over today for me to cut zinnias for them. There were numerous small friendly bees feasting on the zinnias. I cut enough zinnias for each to put in mason jars and left enough zinnias for the bees. The bees didn't bother me as I cut the flowers it was as if they knew I was cutting the zinnias so more could grow. So many buds so I should have more zinnias by next week.

Grace, my neighbor came home yesterday with her own bees! She is now going to have her own honey. Haven’t had much of a chance to talk to her but hopefully her bees will help my garden too!

I spotted our first bee yesterday flying around my garden and checking out what I have planted! I hope he was impressed and will be back to help my garden grow.

I've been checking for my crocuses but nothing yet. Your Quince tree sounds fascinating. I've never heard of them.

Winnie, when our Flowering Quince tree is in full bloom, it smells like baby powder and is loaded with all types, shapes and color Bees... so much so, that you can hear the buzzing,
From Bumbles to honey to Mason and even little tiny Bees...
But we are still a few months away from the Quince blooming so I will have to settle for the Crocuses to attack the Bees.

Grace, I love, love little spring Crocus! My Mom and some that were white, yellow and purple and they were first up before all the other bulb flowers. This year, our Azaleas have been full of all sizes of Bumblebees! Last year, there were hardly any so I was ecstatic to see so many this year. It makes my heart sing to see lots of Bees busy on the flowers and hear their buzzing!!

Congratulations to you both! Love the crocuses. Waiting for our last snow to melt off before I can see if my spring bulbs are coming up. Looking forward to spring arriving & staying!

Our bees are back too! Makes my heart so happy! I love your beautiful crocus, Grace! I haven't mowed much although it needs it terribly but the bees and butterflies depend on dandelion, henbit and clover to boost their spring awakening! Happy Spring!!! Hi bees!!
