Today while at my favorite Thrift Shop, I scored this sweet little Glove Box.

I bought it for $1.99
Now I have some of my mother's gloves in it.

What a cool find, Grace! My mom had one that she kept old jewelry in when I was a girl. I have it now but I always thought it was a jewelry box. It’s in terrible shape as my mom was a life long smoker and not the neatest housekeeper. I keep my bracelets in it though. I may have to come up your way to do some thrifting!!!

Thanks for sharing Grace. I thought - those look awful small for robes. Now I know why :) Learn something new everyday! I picture you wearing the gloves with some of your lavender in the pocket for a wonderful perfume while your sipping your cuppa tea while out with friends.

I don't remember where I found these gloves, but... I love the little 'pocket'..

I can just see a little girl, with her Sunday hat, white patent leather 'MaryJanes'.. her little matching purse and her gloves with a tiny pocket that she can tuck her dime in for her tithe. Oh what a sweet thought.

Oh and yes, the blue one fits me...
The pink one is a tad snug.
I tried on the blue a bit ago,, I t reminded me of my mom, when she was in the hospital back in the early 1960's

I have 2 Vtg Bed Robes that are made in similar quilted satiny type fabric.

For some of our younger farm sistas, ladies who were confined to bed (like in a maternity ward) would wear these when receiving visitors since a full length robe would not be practical. They could be worn to properly cover the lady as she sat up in bed.

Vanessa,,, LUV It1! Your glove box is the long lost sister to mine... heeheehee!

There is a price sticker inside the lid, It say: Variety $1.00
I wonder if that was the original price tag...

What a great score Grace! You and NancyJo seem to live where there are some pretty nice thrift stores. Lucky you!

That's neat. I remember something like Vanessa's at my mother's, but didn't know what it was.

I never would have known that was a glove box. Great place for your mom's gloves to be kept in.
