I am a Mama again,,, a Kat mama!
Hubby and I have been in the process of adopting a fur baby since our other kitty resides with our granddaughter who loves her dearly and are BFF's... That was Kiki the stray...

My oldest granddaughter has bi-polar and the one thing constant and comforting is Kiki.
It's as if Kiki knows how to care for my granddaughter., Sort of like a therapy cat.

So for the past year I have been missing a purrr baby to love and dote on...
And after months, here she is!
Introducing my 12 y/o blue eyed Persian Himalaya baby.
Chrissy, whom we call Sissy.
8lbs of sweetness and purrs...
Ginger is curious but not invasive of Sissy, and Sissy so far has been ok with Ginger as long as Ginger doesn't get in her face, to which, Sissy turns and walks away.
Oh my gosh I am totally in love with this baby...

This is her trying to nap while I keep annoyingly try to photograph her.
And yes, as time goes on, I will be boring you all with photos, after all, I am the crazy " katmom"...

Grace, thanks for the suggestion. I’ll have to see if we have anything around here like that. May be something we can do this summer once school is out.

Krista,,, yes, there is truly something calming and therapeutic about kats and dogz...
We have been monthly supporters of a Persian-Himalayan rescue on the west side of the state..
When she came up for adoption,,, it was a no brainer for us.. Older cats and dogs are harder to place in homes.. but in my mind are so loving and appreciative to be given a 2nd chance.

May be you could go to a Rescue, that has a meet & greet program to match up pets and people, to see if it could be a good match for your son.
I know Kiki has a calming effect on my grand girlie,, even when she has episodes, KiKi snuggles with her.. and it is amazing the calming.

Watching a child suffer with Bi-Polar,, is heart breaking. So the small things make a big difference.

If you need any info on what it is like being a kat mom,, just ask me,, or Stitchinwitch, Jeanp, isewabernia or Texdane and I know there are lots more MJF sisters with kitties.

Congratulations Grace! She is so pretty! Enjoy all those new kitty snuggles. I’m happy to hear that your other cat brings your granddaughter so much peace. My middle boy is autistic and is really drawn to those tiny dogs you can carry but he doesn’t have patience for anything that’s hyper or prefers to play instead of just sleep. He wants something small, quite, and mostly still. That’s been really hard to find without spending a lot of money. We haven’t ever considered a cat because neither of us have ever owned one but it may be an option we can consider. It’s amazing the peace animals can provide to people.

I swear every hour she gets sweeter!
I am in my sewing room at my desk, she just hoppped up, rubbed against me and is now on the window ledge watching the quails.

Sew happy for both of you! Kitty's are sew fun. I know that you will enjoy your baby, Grace.
My kitty is an "Exotic." Exotic's are short haired Persians. Rosie is black with golden eyes and is almost 15yrs old. I dearly love her, she is always with me. She was a rescue from the Humane Society.
I have adopted a new kitty, she was a throw-a-way stray (found her in the neighbors garage!). Kitt is a long-haired ice grey baby. She drives Rosie bonkers!
I am glad that your granddaughter gets to keep her kitty. I have a great-grandson that is autistic and I wish his mom and dad would consider a cat for him. I think it would help him out alot.

She is beautiful and very regal looking! We had a stray white Persian show up at our old farmhouse when I was a teenager. We named her Morticia. She had the most beautiful green eyes and was very snobbish. Best of luck with your new purr baby!
