Nancy, We used to have a "farmette" it was just under 5 acres. But we had plenty of room for gardens, chickens and dogs. LOL! We seemed to collect dogs. We moved here to be near to the younger grandchildren. I DO miss having the chickens and other things. We had all kinds of berries there and the flowers. But I love being with the grands here so we just do what we can with a small container garden this year. Next year I hope to have a bigger one. I still do lots of things I did there and like was said above being a farmgirl is a matter of the heart.

Hi Nancy and welcome to our "Farm" community! It is good to hear from you and a bit about your little place in Texas. I don't even live on a farm, but rather in a suburb. But, MaryJane says, Farmgirl is a matter of heart so that works for me. LOL!! Please join in the many conversations you find here posted and let us know some of your thoughts or ideas on the subject. And if you love to craft, we always have fun swaps happening on a variety of topics. They are always a lot of fun to do and another great and easy way to meet new Farmgirls.

Hi Nancy! Welcome! You have landed in a beautiful place - this forum is so full of wonderful ladies, prayers, tips, support and inspiration! And yes, farmgirl is a state of mind, heart and spirit. I too, only have a small space, but, there is still soooo much you can do with a small space. Can't wait to hear more about you and your little corner of the world!

Welcome!! This sisterhood is the best thing ever!! So much love and inspiration shared. I have a small parcel…just under a 1/4 of an acre. My hubby and I used raised beds to grow veggies and plant our flowers in the ground as well as pots. Farmgirls is really a frame of mind!! I hope you love it here as much as I do!! :)

Welcome to the Forum Nancy! Your farm sounds wonderful. I hope you can get a good year to get your garden going. Last year was rough for my garden as well. I’m hoping for a better year this year. I look forward to getting to know you better and seeing you around the forum.

Hi Nancy! Welcome to the forum. Love the name of your place. We didn't do a garden this year either. Just a few container things. Going to see how that goes.

Hi Nancy! Welcome to Farmgirl Connection. I live in northern Kentucky in a county with about the same population as yours. I'm a lazy gardener, and am adding a garden bed each year.
We used to live in San Antonio, and I remember how hot and dry it would get.

Hi Nancy welcome to the Farm from northeast Texas. I'm sorry to hear about your garden problems but I do understand about years of drought and years of too much rain. I like the name you chose for your homeplace.

I live in Paris which is in the northeast part of the state. Where is Graham?
