A lot of great ideas; if only I had the makings for one. World market had several small ones and I saw a truly hideous one at a thrift shop. It was quite large - about 18 inches for the bottom layer, painted black with large plastic "diamonds" glued on the sides. I left it there. When the time is right I will find one.

I need to get on the ball my tiered trays still have my apple things on it, LOL ok that is on my list for today. I do have a little area below my TV that has some Halloween decorations, including my stuffed hedge hog who looks to cute with his/her leaves on it. I got it at Walmart a few years ago.

I am a bit behind on decorating my tiered tray for halloween. Most of this years tray decor has come from farm girl packages I have received in the last few weeks. Harvest has been keeping me from pulling out my Halloween decorations, but my 4 year old granddaughter informed me we needed to decorate a little bit so off we went to the storage room to find some goodies. Love changing up my holiday decor.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

I finally finished my tiered tray over the weekend. :) It’s decorated for Halloween now and I will switch those things out for plain fall in November! :)

How very interesting Linda!! Your mother and grandmother sound like they were very talented, someone I would love to have known! So your talent is from your maternal side.

Thank you, Wanda, I love that little one, also. My maternal grandmother was what I would call a crafty (not sly) person and one of her many hobbies was doing the engraving on the aluminum trays. She would get the blank aluminum trays and etch/engrave flower patterns on them. I am not sure she did the engraving on this one, but I do have a couple trays that she made.

My mother used to tell me about one of her mother's sewing projects. She always sewed clothes for her children on her treadle sewing machine, and whenever she made a dress or other clothing for one of them she would make a second one, too. Then, at Christmastime, she would sell these other items she had made throughout the year and raise her Christmas money. People always looked forward to her Christmas sale.

She also entered (and won many awards) for dried flower arrangements at the county fair every year. The fairgrounds were right across the street from her house Her arrangements included thistles, money plant, and many other dried weeds, seed pods, and flowers.

Linda those are very nice. I have seen a lot of things while thrifting made with aluminum? like the top one, but never a tiered tray. LOL, it seems every time I try to take a pic, the “live” button gets turned on!

Yesterday I posted pictures of 3 tiered trays I have and it did not post. I think I figured it out - my camera took "live" pics. Grrr. I've turned that off - let me try again.

The first is one that was my mother's - very lightweight and dainty. My mother used it for small homemade candies at Christmas time. Would also be good for small cookies.

The second I found at a thrift shop we go to regularly. I thought it was a bit different, since the "trays" are more like bowls.

The third I bought at Cracker Barrel several years ago and it is more like tiered baskets.

They are all so different and unique in their own ways, and are all "resting" right now, but will be in use soon.

I love seeing your trays - and Wanda Sue - what a cute one you made!

Here's a tiered tray I found at Target this fall - it was such fun to set it up for Halloween.
