Welcome to 2024! We all finished a LOT of PhDs in 2023 and I know we can do more this year. It helps when we have the support of your MJF sisters to keep us on track.

Please join with us this year to finish those UFOs and PhDs (Projects Half Done). Doesn't PhD sounds more important? I have so many PhD and I'm always finding (starting?) more. Most of my projects are fabric or yarn related - those are my media of choice.

You can post a list and when you finish a project you can add the date and post a picture so we can all see what you've completed, admire the talents of our farmgirl sisters, and encourage others to complete their projects.

How many projects can you finish each month? Let's try for at least 1 a month, though I know MJF farmgirls are very talented and I'm sure you can do more.

Judith, I wonder the same thing lol! But all my kids are very supportive and interested in all the things I make. Especially since they get to benefit from it. I gave the mermaid to Everleigh. So she was pretty excited.

Now I am trying to decide which UFO to work on next.

It's amazing how much you accomplish with little kids running around.

That is really cute Krista. Like Wanda Sue I am not sure either how you do all the things you do. Amazing!

You all are amazing at what you accomplish on a weekly basis! Hopefully you will hear from me soon.

Thanks!

I finished another UFO yesterday. I purchased this learning to embroider kit many years ago. It was super easy to make and didn't take long. I'm not sure why it took me so long. Now I will give it to Everleigh.

Great job Karen and Heather! They both look great!

I have a diamond painting UFO that I have been working on this last week. I am so close to being done. Less than a quarter left. I am ready to have another UFO finished.

That turned out great Karen!

I finished up a diamond painting:

I still need to get a frame for it though.

I had the Go Baby and got $130 off on the trade in. It came with a couple dies I've never opened; tumbler and a flower appliqué. The new one come with flying geese. I already have a few basics and got the 2 ½ strip die on sale at a quilt show this week. Should be enough to keep me out of trouble for a while.

Judith -

I have a crank-style Acuquilt GO! and have several patterns. You will love your electric GO! for the basic squares and strips for donation quilts.

A few friends in the quilt guild also have GO! cutters and we share applique dies among us. My GO! came with the basic 2-1/2" strips die, and the squares, HSTs and QSTs for finished 8" blocks, and when I got my GO! it came with an additional GO! me, with the 3" finished HST and QST die. I also have the gnome die and clothes die for it. I have never opened the GO! me box and die sets and may sell it since I do not need both.

Oh no Judith, I am so sorry to hear about your wrists. I pray you will find something you can still do without pain, more damage to your wrists or totally giving it up. I know how difficult and painful it must be for you.

I took about 10 pounds of fabric to the guild meeting last night and every bit of it disappeared. I also bought an electric AccuQuilt cutter and am hoping I can keep on sewing. I'm going to try using up some fabric for tops of charity quilts. Some women in the guild have long arm quilters so they can do that part far faster and easier than me. Probably a lot better too -- some of them get quite fancy with their quilting while I am basically a straight line quilter.

Beautiful cornucopia, sis. Grandma would have been proud of your work!
As for me, with my mother-in-law's passing I've inherited her final quilt. The blocks are joined in rows all that's needed are vertical sashing, borders, and quilting. She did it all by hand.

Judith, I am so sorry to hear about your wrists…
How awesome of you to ‘share the wealth’ of your fabric stash…
