The theme for April Mail Art 2024 is:

Geometric Shapes
Circles and squares and triangles. Something, anything using your favorite shape(s). Or explore new ones. Now, what is a parallelogram, again? Maybe carve a soap bar diamond, explore paper piecing octagons, paint a hex sign in hexagons. The possibilities are geometrically exponential (brain teaser).

If this is your first time signing up for Mail Art, please visit the topic Farmgirl Mail Art to read our guidelines, https://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=83588&whichpage=1

Cindy, thank you for the lovely surprise package. You didn't need to do that. The cards are super neat and will definitely come in handy and the necklace is beautiful! Baby Bexten is sure fond of looking at it lol! Thank you so very much.

I received my beautiful mail art from Mary Jane last week and I absolutely love it! I was delayed in posting due to a major electrical issue at our house that resulted in days without power and a big rewiring project… all is well now though!

Mary Jane made me this beautiful ornament from a recycled can! As some of you may remember, I used to host a reclaimed item swap and am always a big fan of recycling items into art. I also collect snowflake ornaments, which this reminds me of-so it could not be more perfect for me!

I believe this shape is called an Octogram.
It came in a super cute hexagon box:

She also sent me these beautiful Handmade hexagon coasters made by a mystery farmgirl sister! I love them - thank you so much to whoever made them!

Cindy, I am happy your package arrived! They were so fun to make and I hope you enjoy them.

Grace, it's actually a lot easier than it looks! You just make the points and then twist each one over itself and crochet all around the top hooking them together.

Krista... Oh Duh!!! I just got new 'readers' and am still blind as a bat!!! lol!

BTW.. your "pin-wheel aka triangle cluster crochet is Mah-vu-lous!!! I am scratching my brain.. how do you do that??

Krista - your beautiful mail art arrived yesterday. Wow! You have gone above & beyond with these thoughtful creations (a hot pad & a mug rug). The hot pad looks like a very complicated geometric design. I am in awe of your talent. I feel somewhat inadequate with the simple card that I sent. We had little time to spare before heading off on our trip to Australia. I know that's a poor excuse, but I will keep thinking on this geometric theme & perhaps surprise you with a little something more in the near future. Thanks for being a great swap partner!

Grace, as much as I would love to be spoiled by Sarah, it wasn't me. She sent her package to Auntie MaryJane!

Sarah, you did a beautiful job!

Sherry, your picture looks great. I love all the different designs.

I received my mail art from Sarah and WOW! How did she know I'd love learning all about the geometric shape she stitched called a biscornu covered in other cross-stitched geometric shapes. Here's the thing, I'm a teensy tiny bit of a math geek, so I'm reading the book Once Upon a Prime by Sarah Hart, professor of geometry at Gresham College in London (she also reads the book on audio and her voice/accent is captivating). But her wonderfully playful book is also about literature. And art. Sarah would love what Sarah made! A biscornu is two squares joined together, the boundary forming a unique convex polyhedron, by Alexandrov's uniqueness theorem. In the case of a biscornu on paper, it's a flat antiprism, with ten faces and eight isosceles right triangles. An actual biscornu like Sarah made for me is somewhat more rounded. I plan on displaying it front and center on my next Christmas tree. On the other hand, it would make a darling pin cushion. Or I could hang it from my rear view mirror in my Jeep. Here's the final thing. Gifts like these always remind you of the person whenever you use them or see them; they just keep on giving. Maybe I'll bring a branch indoors for all my little gifts, a giving tree.

I think Sarah made the little square box that held a geometric dodecagon, a 12-gon doily! Precious.

Sarah, I put the finishing touches on the mail art I'm sending you this morning. It'll go out in the mail tomorrow. Thank you for your extraordinarily perfect gift to me!

I am so excited for this swap and so excited to be partnered with you Mary Jane! Yours is on the way and I am just dying for you to get it, I had so much fun making it for you!

I love what Debbie, Grace & Dianna have come up with, how fun to see everyone's geometric ideas! This stumped me a little at first, then I realized how much the arts and crafts I always do already involve geometric shapes.

2 questions, did you hand stamp the ribbon with the words???
and, the button’.. did you make it???

Thank you so very much Debbie, I luv my goodies,,, I think I am going to hang the pyramid in my kitchen window for now… so when I poor my cup of coffee first thing in the morning, the lovely words will be my motivation for the day.
