I just love using sewing baskets, new, or vintage, to store and stash some of my sewing stuff, as well as trims and ribbons, etc. And look what I found today while out junktiquing…

I also found this little tatting ring doily thingy… for .99 cents.
Love a fun day Thrifting…

My grandmother crocheted something like that over round plastic rings; in fact, I have a small bag of there that was with my mother's crochet supplies.

You find the neatest things at the thrift stores. When we get up there - sometime - would you please take me with you? I may need another suitcase to send stuff home. LOL!

the circles are tatted/crocheted over little white plastic rings from what I can tell...

It's hard to see but the dark side is actually navy blue..

Grace that's a great find! Does the doily feel like there is something in it? Is it stiff or is it loose? I think it would be stiffer if crocheted unless tatting is also done around things like a ring or something to make a core for it.

Not 100% sure if it is tatting or crocheting with a fine crochet hook…

Love the sewing backet and matt.

Is that really tatting, Grace? It sure looks like crochet.
