Posted - Nov 28 2011 : 2:26:29 PM Our farm dates back to the early 1900's, and we've been growing tobacco every year until this year (We still grow seed tobacco, but that's a small amount). Since we don't need to hang tobacco anymore, I've got TONS of tobacco sticks sitting in the barn. Do any of you ladies make anything with them?

Posted - Dec 20 2012 : 12:49:16 PM Here in Maryland, we will often see them in craft/antique stores sold as walking sticks. I bought one for my dad last Christmas. I think I paid $20 for it. I'm pretty sure it had a sealer on it, with a drilled hole in one end and a piece of rawhide through it.

Posted - Aug 31 2012 : 10:37:23 PM Megan, did you find uses for your sticks? Hubby and I are looking for some. Do you know anyone who may be willing to part with any inexpensively?

Posted - Mar 29 2012 : 1:06:29 PM I made a star for Christmas that we put at the top of the gable on our house, wrapped with lights. When it isn't wrapped with lights, it's sitting on the porch just as "art". I'm sure there are more ingenious things to do with them, but that's what I did :)

Posted - Mar 29 2012 : 12:56:47 PM I. went to a breakfast one time and it was beautiful. They used them, painted them white and drilled a hole ( hold under water)in saucer and cup to make bird feeders. As I was saying drill a hole put a screw and a waher and bolt and then use a sealant underneath so it won't leak. It screws in to the stick, and stick in the ground. You fill with water or feed. Beautiful. Marlee
