Hello Everyone,
I am hoping someone can help me with a dilemma. In April, both my parents and I decided we wanted to raise ducks. We both got two adorable ducklings. Unfortunately, mine got botulism and passed away in July. My parents ducks were thriving, until a hawk got their female yesterday. Now, we are left with a single Male. I am watching him this weekend and I can tell he is lost without his companion. Does anyone have ideas how I can try to combat his loneliness until we can find him a new mate or unfortunately a new home.

Thank you so much.

Thanks Ladies,

Hopefully, we will have a new gal for him shortly. I hope once we do he will be a happy duck again.

Ducks tend to be serially monogamous. I would get him a new female companion and try to shield them from hawks.

oh sorry to hear this. Poor guy. short of getting him a new friend, no ideas. keeping him with other animals-chickens or anyone to be with?? I think animals mourn just like people.
