We bought a 29 foot, 7600 pound travel trailer (25 foot box) last November (there's a post about it in this section of the boards), but we haven't had a tow vehicle. That's not really been an issue since we leave it at the private campground of which we are members and just drive out to it.

BUT - our dream is to buy a small trailer - 16 ft or less - and explore the West coast, British Columbia, and Alaska in our free time. With no tow vehicle, though, that kinda wasn't going to happen, and we had already decided not to go down the road of yet another motorhome since the last one we owned was a pain. We also were worried about what to do if there was a wildfire at camp - we're in the woods of the Pacific Northwest, after all - and we needed to get our trailer to safety.

Well, I made the adult decision to trade in my beautiful Mustang for a full-size pickup truck, capable of towing a lot. So for the first time in my life, I'm a woman with a pickup truck!

Here is my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 4-wheel drive, trailering package, and the ability to two up to 11,500 pounds. I've named her Large Marge. ;) We have SO many plans for camping! We're going to take our time selecting the right small trailer, but we're so excited for all the adventures we can have now!

Also, if you own a truck, can you give me some tips on parking in a parking lot? I 100% CANNOT get this thing between the lines of a space. I'm straddling the lines every single time!

Congratulations on your truck. The best thing to do to park one is go out and practice until you can park it. That's what I had to do. It didn't take long to learn.

Rachel, your truck is beautiful! You are going to love all the things you can do with a truck! I'm super excited for you. As far as parking, my suggestion is to park far away from people! Lol when I use to drive my husband's truck I couldn't get it parked between cars so I would just park in the big empty spots away from everyone. Saved me on stress and accidents! Plus the extra walk is good for us right?! Congratulations!

Congratulations! I hope you have many happy adventures with it. I used to have a Tahoe and I just aimed for the middle & hoped for the best went it came to parking. Hopefully someone here can give you better advice!
