Hi fellows,

I was wondering if you could advise me on this issue #128522;
Found a few sketches on the web for shed interior do you think it’s practical enough?
Never done a similar project before so I would be thankful for your help.

Hi,

Thanks for a warm welcome :)
Well, personally I like the second one - a few shelves, and a table should work perfectly for me.
Actually what I was more interested about is the most common sizes for the shelves, unfortunately, there's nothing mentioned in pictures :(

Hi Carol and a big welcome to "the Farm" from down here in Florida!! Sara, you have some great ideas for staring such a project and important ones too.

Carol, keep us posted on what you decide and send us photos of the project progress. It sounds like fun! I wish I had room for a personal shed space in my backyard.... a sort of SheCabin!!

Hi Carol,
Firstly, WELCOME!
Secondly, I agree with Sara. Is this going to be your She-Shed or a shared storage unit. If it is your She-Shed you may want to make sure it has good ventilation. I may want a window on the west and east walls to allow a good cross breeze. Also I think I would have a work table and shelving units that are free standing. I like to change it up once in a while. If it is storage only windows and moveable units may not be necessary. Not sure what part of the country you are in. I lived in a dry desert hot climate before moving to my present place. It would get really really hot. Air vents were essential. Well I hope this is helpful.

Hi Carol, I see you are new to the Farm - Welcome!

The designs look okay but I would like to know how you plan on using the shed. So here's a few questions.

Will it be your space alone or will you be sharing it with others?

Will you work in the area or is it just for storage?

Will it be for single or multi use?

Answers to those questions and ones you think of yourself will help you decide what you need.

I have a similar shed in my backyard next to my deck that I named Yellow Rose Cottage. It has two worktables left from it's previous owner who used it for his woodworking shop. I added a shelve; sideboard; vintage icebox; wall tree; dry sink; and a wood work table in the middle I didn't have room for in my house when I moved from a larger home.

I have my canners & canning supplies; dehydrator; slow cooker out there along with craft supplies. I do all my canning in my YRC.
