Bought this used. THE FIRESIDE BOOK OF CHRISTMAS STORIES.
Inside it says."To Joan with love from Mother Christmas 1945"
I love old books you never know what you might find. I guess this was a new book in 1945 because that is the copyright date.
Made a pudding cake this morning for my Daughter April's Birthday, going over to her house later and she is getting a new puppy, "golden doddle". She doesn't know that yet. Her dog of 14 years passed away a few months ago, and she has almost never been without a dog. So surprise!

Nancy, that is such a wonderful surprise for your daughter! I bet she will be thrilled. Your book is in wonderful condition. You and the past. Owners have taken very good care of it.

Nancy, I just love old books. Your daughter shares a birthday with my granddaughter today. I hope she is totally surprised by her new pup! I'm sure she will love it.

Nancy---I have a copy of this book---have had it for years. I get it out every December and look at a couple of favorite stories. Oh my---a new puppy---what joy and such sweet puppy breath. My friend brought her puppies to see me and I was in heaven. But I told her I could not take another one---then when hubby came home---he accused me of having two hidden in the basement. The younger me would have done that---but the old geezer in me rules and I not stupid any more. LOL---should be a law that the young have to apply for brains before they can become an adult.
