I love your blog, and the way you describe your animals. Congrats on the eggs. Are those blue ones?

Yeah chickens!!!! How nice to have your own eggs. I think I have to wait a little longer for mine to lay.

Isn't it neat to go out and gather eggs? I love that part.

Hey Tina, yes those are from my little "americana". I only have one left but can't wait to get more this spring! Oh, and Kris, hope your little one is feeling better...so sad that she was not doing well :(

Thanks Diana. I just put her out in the cage in the sun. She had jumped out of the box and was all over the living room. Poop all over, too. I have lots of vitamins and electrolytes in her water, too. We'll see.

I love Americanas and Auracanas, too. I have got to get some and I am really wanting some Buffs. I think I might order some chicks. I hate to but I guess I will just to have some. They are so pretty.

What kind do you have now?

We just have one of the Rhode Island Reds (that's Goldie), one black with white speckles ( I can't remember the breed, but she talks all the time, i call her Olga the drama queen) and the Americana, that's Pam/Kim. The fox got one of those two and I couldn't tell which one, so this one was left with both names :)

You just have 3 and you got 3 eggs in one day??? Wow! Lucky you. Could the black and white one be Barred Rock? I love those, too. That's what my rooster is. He's so beautiful. I saw one of his sons the other day. We thought it was a hen but he's not. And another friend has 5 more of his sons. Those mat end up in the pot soon.

I'm going to look at your blog again.

That's it! Thanks Kris. I looked them up on line and that is the breed for sure. She is really sweet but very nervous...not a touchy/feely bird like my Goldie is. I know, I'm really lucky to have such great layers!
