Well, happy belate St. Pat's to all. How has everyone been? I've been busy with life, but isn't that always the way it goes. Now with the weather starting to shape up, are there any get togethers in the works? I think I remember something in the fall about Greenfield village in the Spring, is that still a go? CJ6, did you ever find a group close to you? Your in Monroe, if I remember correctly and if not feel free to correct me.....LOL! My thoughts recently have turned to gardening... I already have a ton of seeds started. Can't wait to get out in the dirt and get them planted. What about you, what are your plans for the warm weather?

It was nice chatting, Gotta Run, Huggs

Yes,Yart you remembered correctly I'm in Monroe...you're in Flat Rock right? Not so far apart to get together...
I just got home from the store and bought top soil to start my seedlings...hopefully this weekend,if not the beginning of the week. I hate to say it but,I wish it wasn't warming up quite yet(I lost a month being sick and am finally feeling better this week) I could use just a bit more time before having to start in the yard...I've got plants to move and they don't give much time once it starts getting warm...only a couple days, then it's too late! Gotta go groceries need to be put away and the kids are cleaning the car out...Hooray!

CJ6 it is nice to see you again... LOL! Nope I'm in Wyandotte... But I do get down to Monroe quite often. We need to get together some time. As for the rest of the group... Where are you? April 15th Greenfied Village opens up for the season. Are there any plans in the future for a get together? Hope to talk to ya'll soon!

Anyone else a fan of Under the Radar Michigan? I don't often catch the TV show but I "liked" them on Facebook and now I get texts all the time about various areas of Michigan I never would have considered visiting.

For you farmgirls that actually have farm-related businesses they might be looking for program ideas! Worth a shot!

Yart - I'm in Warren and it would be great if we organized a MJF Sister's meetup at Greenfield Village or another local.

Hi Melissa:

Life has been busy and I haven't checked on the site for quite some time. I saw your posting about your new market and am excited for you and hope to stop by to see it some time. I also went to your blogspot and loved your sentiments about grandma's apron. You really captured the essence of all that the apron once meant.

All the best!

Hi:

I'm a relatively new spinner & wanted to tell you about the Spinning Loft in Howell. I don't live close to Howell but they were highly recommended, I've ordered from there, & received great service/info. from the owner, Beth. There are classes, a large number of wheels you can try, etc.... Spinning opens you up to a whole new world of fiber & it's great!

Sorry I haven't been around. The garden, kids and life have just been really busy. With Summer right around the corner how is everyone doing? I heard that some of the strawberry U-Picks are now open. I plan on going one day next week. Then I will be back into canning for this year. I know some can all year.... But I tend to take more breaks with it. This year I hope to get more done. Talk to you all soon!

Hey Michigan Gals,

Does anyone know where the apron is that MJ sent around last summer when she was here? Our Dandelion Farmgirl group might be up for a Greenfield Village visit. Let us know if this gets organized.

Yikes! It's been soooo long since I've posted or even been on the website that I've forgotten how to do it!!! Let me try this again ...

Hi Ladies! I don't know what made me check in today, but I'm sure glad I did. I know where the apron is because it's STILL sitting right here waiting to start it's journey. I'm sorry about that ... it's not like I've even been wearing it or anything ... does anyone else procrastinate?? Once something gets too far behind I'm embarassed to do it at all. No more! Once she's on her way, I know it'll be a load off my mind ... I've been feeling so guilty about all that I haven't followed through on ... and that's wasted energy. Onward and upward!! I did purchase journals so we can log in with our stories, and I have the list farmgirls waiting for her ... we also have a lovely farmgirl, Sarah, ready to be the apron "travel agent/tracker" so let's get this show ON THE ROAD!!!!

XOXO,
Tracey

Thanks Tracey,

Make sure it heads up to north Oakland County so we Dandelion Farmgirls can add our handiwork! I know how that procrastination thing is. It is a load off once you can check something off the ever -growing list, isn't it.

Oh my gosh, Tracey! Yay! I've been asking about this for months now. I finally gave up as I never got any response about it. Do we need to start a new list of names, addresses, etc? Oh my, I am so happy to know this!!!

Just popping in to say HI! It's been ever so long since I've been on the website. Just, well, you know, life and stuff. I think I'll have to backtrack through about 15 pages just to find out what everyone has been up too!

Stopping in to say "hi" Lots of goings on here. I am probably moving soon, possible to a manufactured home. Pray that all goes well for me on that issue. My sis is moving back to Florida after living with me for 5 years. She really misses her daughter and grand baby but I am gonna miss her something fierce. Guess I'll just have to get busier connecting with all t he Michigan farmgirls.

Melanie, I will be moving to hartland so maybe I can connect with the dandelions.

Melanie - did the group decide on a date for Greenfield Village or did we leave it up in the air to schedule this fall? I definately don't want to miss it.
