| Hi everyone- I have been reading the posts on the boards for some time now and feel like I know many of you. I figured it was time to get involved and say hello. I live in upstate NY north of Albany and am a 50-something Mom of two grown sons, wife and Mom to my five furbabies- two Golden Retrievers, a Dalmatian, and two kitties. I am a farmgirl at heart as I live in a subdivision, but have a large yard so I do have a vegetable and herb garden every year. What I don't have room to grow, I go pick myself- apples, berries, etc. and make my own jam and freeze for winter. My dream would be to live on a small farm- maybe five acres, but at this point, hubby doesn't really seem too motivated for that. I left my job as a loan officer at a Credit Union two years ago and since then have spent a lot of time taking care of my Grama, who passed away last year and my Mom, who has been staying with me since she broke her hip. Add to that being executor of Grama's estate and selling her property and I have been pretty busy. I look forward to getting to know all of you here-- when I am here I feel like I am home-- Donna |

Welcome Donna! My husband lived in Woodstock when he was 15 & came to this country in '75. He went to college at SUNY in Albany and said NY is a beautiful state. Some day he wants to show our son and I around up there.
So glad you found and joined us! You'll find lots of shared interests here.

Hi Donna, So glad you are joining us. My family is from Saratoga Springs (Galway) but now relocated to Jersey. Are you far from Saratoga? Hope you will have fun here with us. I know I always do! hugs and welcomes
Jessie

| I live in South Glens Falls, NY which is about 15 minutes north of Saratoga. It is a beautiful area, but winters are a bit too long for me LOL |

Hi Donna, welcome to the forum. I am also a NY Farmgal, from just south of Rochester. You may be in a sub-division but you are making use of all your space and you have been very busy caring for family too. But, a Farmgil does what she has to do right. I will be planting my first veggie garden next year and although our winters are long, it will give me lots of planning time. Look forward to getting to know you better.

Hello Donna from NE Ohio. First off I want to say I'm sorry to hear about your Grandma. We lost my Dad this Feb. and it still hurts pretty bad. I moved him from one nursing home to another, closer to me and moved my mom to an apartment at the other end of my street. It's handy. She's 81 now. I want her close. I pray that your mom heals fast. This place has been a blessing to me. It has filled some really empty places in my heart and soul. You'll love it here, I'm sure of it! ;) Judy

Hi Donna, I know Glens Falls. Beautiful area there. I bet you are having a great Fall about now. I am from the Ballston Spa/ Saratoga area but when I was younger used to go visit friends in Glens Falls. Nice to have you here on the forum. Hope you enjoy it!

Hi Donna, I grew up in Attica, near the prison not in it. Now I live 30 miles from there in blasdell, near the Buffalo Bills stadium. I still love NY even when it snows. Welcome, I think you will enjoy it here I know I do.

Jennifer, Wow, it's a small world! I grew up in Galway too! Didn't think anyone would know it so I always write Saratoga or Ballston Spa. Nice to see a fellow hometowner here!

I lived there all my life. Up until I married my husband in 1982. What year did you graduate? I assume you went the Galway schools? I rarely get back for a visit, my parents moved to Florida, my Dad couldn't take the winters anymore due to his health. I still have extended family there though.
