May is Celiac Awareness Month!!
Tomorrow starts Celiac Awareness month . . . It's time to educatate those around us that are not familiar with Celiac and gluten free living ...

It's time to teach the restaurants how to safely serve Celiacs and gluten free diets.
It's time to make Celiac Disease as well knows as Diabetes!

... start with your family - understanding is half the battle!
... move onto your friends - teach them what's safe.
... talk to a restaurant - can they safely offer a dish or two?
... talk to your schools/colleges - do they have meals for the kids?

... don't know about Celiac Disease?
... don't know what's gluten free?
... don't know what the fuss is about?
check out my website, send me an email, google 'celiac disease' ...

Dear Farmgirls Across the Miles,

You are cordially invited to attend the Septembr 18, 2010, Apron Gathering in Kansas City, MO.

Shoal Creek Living History Museum will be hosting a Farm Fair in conjunction with our Apron Gathering.

There will be events for farmgirls only as well.

There will be a 'sweet repeat cookbook exchange", and a photo contest.

Shoal Creek is the back drop for a quilt show on the grounds. We hope to have over 100 quilts to dazzle for the day.
Master Gardner programs, quilting classes, demonstrations and food abound.

The airport is 10 - 15 minutes . If anyone would like a shuttle please let me know.
Camping available on the grounds with no hook ups. Tents welcome too.
A campground is a few miles to the East in Liberty MO.
If there is enough interest on Friday , we can arrange a morning tour of the organic dairy named Shatto Milk company. www.shattomilk.com

Sept. 18, 2010, Save the date. Hotels, casinos, restaurants and shopping very near by.

Thank and look forward to seeing you in the fall.

What a fun Farmgirl Day! Met with five sisters in the new Yampa Valley Hen and Chicks Farmgirl chapter in Craig Co. and we canned 56 pints of chicken thanks to sister Lorrae #1649 she taught us a ton ....now there isn't a chicken safe in all of the county. As much as I like my hens those jars look mighty pretty. We will be meeting again on March 4th if you want to join us anyone is welcome.

I loved spending the day with my Farm Girl "Peeps" . We did a lot of work but wow did we get a lot done !! I can't wait to try that chicken ! I think we will do lots more canning together. Next month sometime we will be canning pie filling if we can find a good price on Apples. While we waited for the chicken to process we made the orange vinegar all purpose cleaner that was posted last week. We used it to clean up after . I Works GREAT! Oh and Susan , Ethyl the Hen is still safe but WATCH OUT ROOSTERS !

I am so excited too! Our first chapter get-together is this weekend! I'm having "low tea" and we're going to patchwork the covers of a photo album for our memories and press flowers for a future project together! I have so many ideas that I can't wait to share with everyone! My chickie-girls are all talented and creative and I plan on using this potential for good! (Sounds like a superhero motto...FARMGIRLS ARE SUPERHEROES!) Have fun everyone at all your gatherings! And Margo, I wish you could join us, but it's so far...but if you're ever in the neighborhood, give a ring!
