Love it! I like oilcloth but have never made anything with it. Joann's has some pretty patterns.

working with oilcloth seems pretty easy as long as you remember to not pin things together, but you can use tape (I'd suggest the removable painting tape not scotch tape).

Annette, I'm doing fine right now, just got a temp job, te garden is going good and I'm still sewing. Who can ask for more

God bless,

Judy I love your wallet, very cute and great idea for oilcloth!
I finally finished the happy little cherry doily,I started out this morning with a pile of cherry clusters to be stitched on and then worked on it steadily throughout the day (between chores of course) and finally got all the clusters stitched on and the cherries stitched together.
I think my Mum will be happy, she said she's loved this doily since she bought the pattern book in the sixties (it was printed in 1954)so even though it's late for her birthday, which was the 18th I don't think she'll have minded waiting just a little longer!

Finally got around to taking a photo of my "Girlie Tool Belt". It is not as whimsical as the one I made my sister, but I loved the material!!!

Kathryn! I love that. You absolutely amaze me. Do you block them when they are finished? I can't wait to make a few this winter. I just love that one with cherries.

Therea - love the tool belt. The fabric is very cute.

Hi Hen Sisters,
I have been doing some quilting with some fall and outdoor printed fabric strips. I am ready to sew on the binding. This small throw is a good match with my sofa, but I always tend to gravitate to these colors. I had to laugh when I brought the fabric home as it once again was in my color palettes.
Thinking of each of you!

Thank you Janet. I know what you mean about getting it dirty... but what the heck.

Annette, love your quilt! Very nice. Can see why you gravitate to those colors.

Theresa I love your tool belt, how handy,I was thinking how nice it would be to have something like that for my horse grooming tools to have when I'm braiding my horse for Dressage shows, great idea and so cute and feminine!
Annette, your quilt is beautiful,I love Fall colors and crafts and you do such nice work!
Thanks ladies for the compliments on the cherry doily,my Mom was really excited about it.
I love that pattern,I think I'll make another one eventually but after making 48 little cherries,32 leaves and then 16 clusters then sewing them all together I think I will wait awhile before I do it again!
Kristina I usually just lay a flour sack towel over my doilies and lightly press them with an iron when they're done, this is usually enough to flatten and relax the work once it's done but if I'm doing something more three dimensional I starch and shape them but most round doilies I can just press without pinning them out,I use mostly Aunt Lydia's Classic Crochet Cotton size 10 and it really seems to relax and shape nicely without alot of fussing.
If you would like the cherry pattern I would be happy to share it with you.
I started an Irish rose crochet doily today while waiting at the obstetricians office for a glucose test but I'm going to take a short break on doilies and work on finishing up my redwork chicken wallhanging,I'll post a picture when I get it done,it's only taken me two years to pull it out and finish the thing :)
I hope all you ladies had a great and productive day!

Love to come back and check out what you girls have been up to and I'm never disappointed.
Theresa . . the tool belt is adorable!!
Kathryn . . the doily is stunningly gorgeoue . . wow!!

I've been tent glamping this past weekend (gone 6 days) with my daughter and if you go to our thread in OUTPOST you can see pics of our glampsite. Soon I'll be posting pics of the lace on our tent, which was a upcycle/sewing/create project for me.

Now that I'm back home and laundry is almost caught up, back to sewing aprons . . . going back to Farmers Market this Saturday!

Made two brooms today. a round hearth broom and a whisk broom. attended a class at the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival taught by "Little" John H of Moonwise Herbs in Sheboygan. what a wonderful feeling. i actually got them done. and so easy once you see how it's done. i love them. may even do a couple of more.
DH came with me, and when he wasn't busy laughing at me, he was helping.
