I'm working on homework tonight but my quilt is calling me and my sewing machine thinks I don't love it anymore

After being so disappointed in finding a hole in a dress I was going to sell for extra money I decided to make two aprons out of it. Really pretty vintage cotton from the seventies, I think it'll make adorable aprons, so all is not lost. I really like the butterflies :-)

A whopping four straight (sort of) seams, but I made semaphore flags as an "extra activity" for a Girl Scout campout for 185 people I volunteered to run last weekend. Months of prep and planning, but it was well worth it to see LOTS of happy faces and suburban kids showing their parents they really do love to be outdoors on something other than a soccer field.

Here are two of the little scouts doing what I called "ancient texting". One who got frustrated signaling her name announced it was "hard enough to learn to spell when you don't have to act it out". I love the mind of a seven year old : )

Anita your aprons are really beautiful, the fabric is lovely, especially those dainty little butterflies!
Cindy that looks like alot of fun,so good to see kids still getting outdoors and enjoying it.
I've been working on sewing some aprons from that cherry print fabric I ordered, all was going well until my machine's bobbin case went awry, tried to fix it but couldn't so looks like a trip to the sewing machine repairman *sigh* and I was having so much fun making them,I got three done though before my machine gave out on me

Love those aprons, Kathryn! Cherries are my very favorite and I think it is time for me to get cracking at the sewing machine. You have inspired me!

O, a trouble's a ton or a trouble's an ounce,
Or a trouble is what you make it!
And it isn't the fact that you're hurt that counts,
But only--how did you take it?

Hi everyone!just thought I would share the link tot the Antique Pattern library. All patterns are free...non able to be copyrighted..and added to all the time. I have even seen pattern making instructions for making your own sewing patterns there...and paper flowers, crochet. Irish crochet, embroidery of every kind, you will love it, if you have never before visited . Here is a sample:

Wishing you all a wonderful day,
Christen

ahhh, are those Victoria magazines I see?
I love that magazine.

as for me, here is my latest craft re-purposing project.

I stained a simple wooden frame then cut and attached this old worn belt and added a wee bit-o-bling.
Dang 'oldheimers'...I can't remember where I saw this idea,,, either a magazine or Pintrest... so easy peasy.

Hi Christen,

I don't know yet if there is a market, I am just making them so far for people that request them. I can make them for certain things like if a parent wanted to give one to a child for achieving something special. right now I am making them to hang on doors for different seasons. You can use them for decoration or for what ever else you want really. I can personalize them in the middle and make them so many colors, the top picture is my daughters and I did it in different colors of zebra print because she loves zebras. It just hangs on her wall in her room. in that instance it was just a craft for me and her to do together. I usually do take the pictures in the best light but for these I couldn't find my camera and just used my phone.
