Hay there.

What a neat idea to have matching ponchos!! Ya'll are all so busy and making such cool things. I have to get busy. I have been finishing the squares of a Quilt of Valor but I have found that I tend to get more done if I run away to my sewing group for several hours. We take turns bringing lunch or a dish so its like having a mini "lock in". I want to work it this weekend. The goal was to give it on Veterans Day but not sure I'm going to reach that goal.

I am also snipping thread off of an Irish Chain antique quilt that I saved from the trash bin. It must be old. Smelled bad and was very dirty so I washed it ... twice... Lots of threads to snip but it ironed well.

Hugs and prayers, Daizy #1093

Good morning Farmgirl Sisters, I have a problem and would like some suggestions! How do you get anything done when you have a very large loving cat playing in the middle your sewing table??

Judy, pretty kitty. Gotta love our furry companions even when their favorite places to play or nap are our work areas.

I have fabric to make scrub tops for my boyfriend, Ed. Maybe I will do that next week. Today I am helping him extend the electric fence so his bulls don't keep going over to his neighbor's front yard. LOL!

Wowzers! everyone has been 'sew' busy,,,
I have a lovely elderly friend who is of German/Russian heritage... in fact her family is 1 of 3 original turn of the century families who settled in the 'Airway Heights" town west of Spokane, WA.
Long story short she loves the "Stacking" dolls... and she is an avid wool/felt crafter...
Sewwww, what do I do,,, created and sewed up a "Stacking" dolls candle cozy..

sewing the face was the hardest because of the pieces being so small.

all finished...

I made itty bitty yo-yo's for the flowers,,,

this photo doesn't show it but in this pic, the 'candle' is one of those battery operated faux candles... Safety First!

Grace, how cute is that. You are so clever.

I remember the days of scrub tops! Never can have to many!

Linda, I don't see a problem, isn't that just what you want in your front yard? I know I would want bulls in mine! LOL! We had a neighbor whose horses and sheep were always in our yard. Ripping my plants out by the roots. Mind you, our horses were always fenced in! My husband would go wild when he had to clean up the manure. LOL! I miss my horses. Not how wild my husband used to get!

That is so pretty, Grace.

Today I just finished my two October BOM blocks (my MJF posts in the Stitchin Room) and am starting on some Christmas Bed Runners for me and for gifts. I will be using the Christmas 10" squares from my monthly MJF swaps. I am making a stars block that I learned from Fons and Porter several years ago. You make 2 identical-but-fabric-reversed blocks at a time. I also plan to put borders on my Route 66 Row Quilt that has been together in rows but not bordered for about 13 years. LOL! Another UFO for my lilst when it is done.

Darlene... you are too funny!.... heeheehee!

Judy, yes I created the pattern for the nesting dolls/stacking dolls...
I had to down size the pattern several times to get it right.
I did it in variations of red l/pinks as those are the colors my friend likes... I am thinking of making another one in primary colors just for fun.
(& for me)...

Grace, I love the stacking dolls candle mat! I love the stacking dolls in general.

Today I am finishing up a Christmas decoration for a swap. Then I will set aside my UFOs to work on my daughter's Birthday gift. She wants to make her first rug. She is 48. She has talked about doing a denim tied rug. So, I found directions, a latch hook and rug canvas from my stash. Now, I am cutting up her dad's denim jeans into 3/4" by 4" strips to make a kit for her. (not from jeans he currently wears). Only 3 billion more strips to cut. Thank heaven for rotary cutters.

Wow so much has happened here since the last time I was on! All of your projects are fabulous! Keep up the amazing work. I was busy this weekend myself making a crochet hat and bootie set for a baby shower! She was over the moon with excitement when she opened them. Totally makes my day and I feel good about what I can do!

Today I got NO sewing or crafting done. I worked the polls from 6:15 am set-up to 8 pm shut-down. I am bushed and have a terrible backache. Today we had 798 people who voted. That was a record number for this area.

Judy, I forgot to take pictures of the bowl holders before mailing. Whoops! I plan to make larger ones for Christmas. So will try to take pics of those.
