Productive day for me yesterday - dehydrated tofu, chicken breast, onions, fermented sauerkraut, worked on my sewing theme quilt a little and went through the Merit Badge booklet and decided which ones I will start working on. Today is back to work and reality.

I've been working on some handmade items for my first 2017 Sweet Seasons swap. I would say what they are and show a photo, but I don't have my partner assignment yet and I don't want to spoil the fun if she happens to also be reading these posts!! LOL!! This past weekend, I decorated some postcards for Valentine's day to send out soon. I love to get the colored pencils and pens out. Makes me just as happy as it used to make me when I was a little girl. Remember the fun of getting a new coloring book and a box of crayons?

Yes, Winnie! What a great way to incorporate something from your youth (coloring) into an adult activity. As i get older i am trying to bring more of my 'girlhood' into my adulthood - so soothing and healing!

I'm also in the sweet seasons swap - so excited for it to start! This will be my first year participating in it and it sounds like a great way to further connect with my farmgirl sisters :-).

Here's a work in progress picture of the scrappy quilt I've been trying to power through. I've been saving my scraps for a couple years and have cut them into 2.5" squares for the little colored 9 patches, then using some low volume fabric to balance it out. I'm about 1/3 done with this part, then I have a couple borders I'm going to put around the edge for a hopefully 6 foot square throw-sized finished project (I'm tall, haha).

Winnie, I love to color! I have about six adult coloring books and a gallon ziplock back with about 200 crayons. I find coloring relaxing even as an adult!

Judy, that bandana is so dang cute! What bread is your grand puppy?

Rachel, your quilt is looking great. My favorite is the gray and white chevron print. I'm a sucker for chevron!

Winnie, I recently bought some chunky crayons for my son and we haven been coloring together. For as long as I can remember I have loved to color. But I do have issues with broken crayons. I can't stand a broken crayon!! One of my biggest pet peeves. That being said I don't share mine with my son, he gets his own!

Last night I was able to dig out one of my UFOs. I decided to finish a pair of pants I have been crocheting. I finished the right leg and started the left. I'm hoping to finish it tonight.

You gals are sew busy!

Check out these fabrics i bought to make a baby girl quilt!
I'm so excited to work with such bright, soft colors.

Our son needs a donation for a silent auction at his homeschool group. I hope to finish quickly so he can use this.

Dena... Your place mats are lovely. I like the autumn colors.

Judy...the bandana is so cute.

Rachel... I like the pattern design for your quilt.

Wow... So many busy bees.

I had a lazy day today. I tatted another piece for a holder for tapestry needles last night. Stiched it to brown felt while watching a movie with Hubby today then added the backing. Bought another candy holder. Ate the candy and saved the container. The blue one is the new one. The second is the first one I made for the tatting needles.

So it's been awhile since i've looked at this thread. Everyone's projects are so cute. I've been able to find more time to work on my blanket. I have 4 rows of straight knit and then cast off and it will be done! I've also been taking a quilting class. I have one block done and hope to finish piecing all the blocks this week. Get pictures posted soon!

I haven't posted on this thread for awhile (due to health issues and that new g-gboy!) I just went back a little ways. (I read the posts almost every day).
Judy-That doggie bandana is really cute! And, of course your Snoopy apron is too!
Jana- you are dehydrating tofu? Do you flavor it first? Do you cube it? Is it homemade? How do you use it later?
Rachel- I love your scrappy quilt. My SIL came over one day and I helped her cut a zillion 2 1/2' squares.
Krista- Your slippers are turning out great! Who did you crochet pants for? What size"
Dena- I love your placemats. That must feel good to have completed that project! Your little girl fabrics are so pretty. I think I have the green fabric also. Is yours flannel?
Luanne- You are taking such good care of your mom! Is there any chance she might decide to stay close to you?
I haven't been able to work on my projects for a couple of weeks.
Wouldn't you know I ended up in ER this past weekend with dehydration and hyperglycemia. That's a first for me. Just starting to feel better today. Dr. is thinking it might be related to thyroid. That should be an easy fix. Hugs to all of you!!

Thank you Grace. I just learned to tat this past Christmas.

Do you all think I am a little tatting crazy?

This is my stash.....minus two rolls I have in my tat tote that I am working on.

I have a stash similar to that. I inherited it from my grandmothers who both made doilies.

Judith, I hope you get feeling better soon. I am trying to crochet monster pants for my son, size 3 months. I was super busy over the weekend and wasn't able to finish them. I need to get on it before they won't fit!
