Bridgette, yes many craft supply stores carry those thread spool holders. I have two of them and find the spindles very dilicate and easily broken off. I did find a vintage spool holder a couple of years ago. The little spokes seem so much stronger. I'll bet your DH could make you a strong holder.

Rachel, your hutch makes me want to declutter my sewing room! Won't look as nice as yours, but maybe a bit more functional. :)

I have a question for you ladies. What is the best gift to make for a baby for a baby shower? I have 2 cousins pregnant right now and due in June. I would like to make them something but not sure what would be the best thing. I ask you all because many of you make baby items!! Thanks.

Burp cloths!!! You never have enough to clean, wipe up, etc. I also cloth diapers, so if you can make those if they are going to cloth diaper. And diaper covers. Too cute.

Got two separate orders for aprons, which I finished along with some extras to sell on my Facebook page. Haven't posted then yet as the last one still needs a finishing touch!

If they are going to nurse, I have a patter for a reversable nursing cover, or jug jacket as I like to call them. Also, if you want to get them a great book, " Feed me I'm yours " has some great information in it. I used it when my girls were babies and it's been updated several times since.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm not a talented sewer, but we will see what I can pull off. Thank you Betty for the website. Judy if I find out that they will be nursing I'll get with you on your pattern. Thank you so much!

I checked out the site you mentioned, Betty. Its pretty cool! 5 new ideas a week...whew. Not sure I could keep up on checking them out. Do you sew with a Janome? One of my fave fabric shops has that brand. They also make kits and have long arm machines. I've got a long way to go learning my Brother though. Thanks for the tip.

I will be finishing a pair of crochet slippers today. All I have left is to sew in my ends. This will be another UFO done and then I will start the next pair of crochet slippers. I have 5 more pairs to make for friends and family and then I can move onto the baby items.

This was a finish I had over the weekend! I think I will make it into a flat-fold

I also worked on some greeting cards and started another stitching project. I had planned to look into starting a nightgown but time vanished and now I get to go to my big-girl job. But I guess I need $$ to spend on my hobbies, LOL!
