I am making some purses. I found a great size pattern on-line and have altered it to include pockets. Pockets on the inside and pockets on the outside. I love pockets in my purses. I really messed up one shoulder strap so had to add a nice leather piece in a matching color to cover my mistake. I really like the looks of it and will be doing more of these.
OK, I'm ready-Let's go. |

Wow! Everyone has been so busy! I have been making heart yo-yos for the yo-yo swap. I also finished up an altered spoon, a quilted dish drainer, and some mail art. Starting next week I am going to start on an Alice in Wonderland quilt - wish me luck!

oops I hit submit instead of preview. lol This is what I did with my first YoYo's from our Swap. It turned out really cute and is hanging on my wall. On the back I put the names of all the swap partners and some decorations. I will put it here on the bottom so you can see. It is just a nice reminder of what Sweethearts My Farm Sisters are!!!
By the way Elaine...saw you altered spoon on your blog...very cool!

PeggyAnn, that's a great yoyo project! I know I'm very late joining this discussion...but what am i doing today? I'm moving into a new little room for my studio...gradual move-in since we just painted the wall of built-in cabinets, and are almost done papering the walls with antique dictionary pages! So excited to move into my new space!

June...lucky girl that you have a dedicated studio. In no house or Apt. have I lived where I had a place for my crafting. My bedroom serves as my sleeping area, office with computer, file cabinets and lots of papers everywhere, and my entertainment area with a cabinet for my tv, stereo, printer etc, and my crafting room too. When I got my Kindle e-reader I was able to clear out a large and small book shelf and put my crafting etc...but believe it or not it all works. Of course if anything is out of place...the whole thing looks like a big huge mess. Lol But I am happy as a clam in my little contained bedroom/Office/etertainment center/craft room world. You make do with what you've got!

Oh you guys are so creative. I love your work. Man...that yoyo project took my breath away. it definitely is one of a kind. so neat. ...& Pam, such professional work with the scotties and background. what a nice job. I have been doing very little of crafts....weeds, gardens, finishing up helping my daughter Nikki move to Tampa to be with her DH, and having my jaw surgery. feeling better, now on to the creative side, I hope!! Thanks you guys for sharing!

It's been really hot and humid this weekend in North Dakota so it's a great time to work on indoor projects. I finished my quilt I've been working on! So excited to finally get it on my bed! :)
I also found fabric quarters on sale this weekend at my local fabric store. The last time I was at my sister-in-law's place we used wash cloths as napkins because she doesn't use paper, but also doesn't sew and hadn't gotten around to buying cloth. So I picked up a bunch of fabric quarters and sewed the edges over. They're only single-sided napkins but I'm sure she'll love them being a MJF reader herself! It was her and my brother's 6-year anniversary on Saturday so I'm sending them to her with a card that says "Napkins, like a marriage, should never be disposable." |

Mindy...I loved your little Marriage Saying...very cute. I am a saver of quotes...I will have to write that one down.
I read another one today that I really liked and it said "Books are like flowers...that you can carry around and put in your pocket."

Hi Claudia...hadn't heard from you much on here for awhile...now I know why, you've been very busy girl! What kind of jaw surgery did you have? Was it for TMJ? Hope you are doing better and that life slows down a little for you so you can enjoy crafting and visiting on MJF! Glad to see you back!

Well, it has been hot and rainy here in southern Florida so I have been sewing little bags. I love the size and have added lots of pockets. One on the outside and two on the inside, have to have my pockets! I asked my husband to take a photo of the BAG and he took the long shot getting me in also. Guess which on is the bag! LOL Now I know why I signed up for the gym today. Would love some feed back on the bags. This is the first one I made and I messed up on the handle so I had to add the leather.
OK, I'm ready-Let's go. |

Well, I survived the first day at the gym and came home rearing to go. Made the second bag without any mess ups, Yay! Here it is. Look how nice and flat it lays when empty! AND, POCKETS.
OK, I'm ready-Let's go. |

My family and friends keep telling me I should sell them. I don't know what to ask for price. I was thinking $35.00? Any ideas? And thank you for the feed back. Family and friends are one thing, but the public is something else.
OK, I'm ready-Let's go. |

Your bags look great Susan. Pricing is so difficult. Just make sure that you add up all your material costs so you are sure to make enough to cover your time as well. You might look at similar items on etsy to see what others are charging for similar items and then check to see if they are selling at that price.
I have been starting to harvest my lavender and am at the beginning of weaving lavender wands. After awhile it's olifactory overload and my nose goes nuts!
