So I tested myself this afternoon..... Making some everything cookies and they take 12 minutes to bake per batch. Each 12 minutes were spent doing something else.
Planted zuchinnis
Did the dishes
read a chapter in a book on Women of the Bible
Scrubbed the counters
Swept the floor
Added dirt to the potato barrels
Weeded the strawberries
Started a new compost bin
topped off another compost bin and planted veges on top
Planted some flowers and flower seeds in the garden where other stuff has died......

still going.

What can you do while the cookies bake???

Do what you love, love what you do.

Angie,
you make me tired just reading your list. I would say you accomplished a great deal.

Angie, so funny! I do the same thing... If I sit to watch a program I do what ever I can during the commercials, you'd be surprised how much you can accomplish in that short period of time!

Nice plan! The next time I bake cookies, I'll try to keep that in mind. :) Think of how much you can get done when you're really concentrating on it!!

I do the commercial thing with tv programs. I set the timer. I do whatever I can to MAKE myself get things done. =) Now it's off to a meeting at the fire station. But at least the house smells yummy and there are more things trying to survive in the garden..... this is good right? Even if I didn't make dinner!!! hahaha

Angie, I hate to say this but if I walk to far away I would forget the cookies until i smelled them burning, so normally I stay in the kitchen and do things. You sure got alot done though! Way to go! Blessings, Karen

OH... I must add. I had a teenager who would yell out the window when the timer would go off. That way things didn't burn! Without her, I wouldn't have been able to be outside. I did come back in to take the out and put more in the oven though. =)

I usually do dishes and clean off the table in the kitchen and living room while I bake the cookies for the farmers market. I am gonna try to clean up the laundry room while they bake tomorrow morning cause I already did the tables and my DD did the dishes. It's amazing how much a teenager can get done when they want thier BF to come over for a visit! I can't usually get too much done between batches, but now I'm gonna see just what I can do. I never really thought of all the wasted time in my day. There's probably an hour or two that I spend staring off into space. Not anymore. Thank You!

Angie, I love that! I use a timer a lot, but that can get a little boring I like the idea of timer *and* cookies, then it's like a little treat after doing a task

I usually just sit and smell the cookies baking. LOL. I'll put clothes washing and drying. I never overdo house work. LOL.

That's great Angie! Unfortunately I don't have any children to warn me if the timer goes off, but I do like to utilize my time best I can whether it be writing a letter, making a call, putting laundry in the washer or unloading the dishwasher. Thanks for even more motivation! :)
