I live in a red and white barn. Thought it might be fun to find out if any other "farm girls" do too!

Here's the story and a fun picture:

Your barn is beautiful! Sometimes, my house looks like I was born in a barn! LOL

We don't, but since we plan to buy property with my parents and share the buildings, I'm sure one of us will end up redoing a barn into a house (unless we are lucky enough to find a place with two houses.) Your barn looks great!

that is so cool. we were hoping one day to take the old family barn and restore it with a loft up top and a shop underneath but it got sold and things changed and that dream (unfornately) will never be realized. i think your barn is just awesome!

Thanks everyone!
You never know... you might end up in a barn after all... It was never really in my plans. And now, getting to say "Come on over to my barn" just thrills me!

I think it would be wonderful to restore an old barn. So much character!!

I don't... but the way the kids run through here tracking mud and leaving all the doors open for the flies to come in, you'd think we do! ;) LOL! Just kidding...

How lucky and blessed you are! That is SUCH a beautiful home! Congratulations on finally living your dream! Hugs - Nini

I remember when our teachers at school would ask (if you put your feet up in your chair - of if you left the door open) "Do you live in a barn????" Now I get the last laugh! =)

We build custom homes for a living. Instead of building our house to be something we could turn around and sell if we wanted, which we've done in the past... we definitely went "custom" on this one. Thanks for the compliment!

Wowwww! I would love to live in a barn. Especially a cute red and white one like yours! Some friends of mine in Florida go to a church called "the barn" and it really is a big, spacious barn (without the animals inside). We are building a barn this spring for my horse, blue. "We" meaning my dad :-). Maybe he'll let me spend the night in there sometime; I'm sure that it would be super fun!!!!:-) *crossing my fingers!*

Thanks Alexis! (I popped over to your etsy shop and was just delighted to see those patterns!)

And yes, Breanna, you'll have to spend the night in that barn! Fun, indeed!

When we were getting the permit to build this barn, we kept telling the building inspector (a friend of ours) that it was going to be like a horse barn. He was just positive we were going to have horses in here, and told us not to worry... because it was county land, we could have them. Ha! We do have a carousel horse and a rocking horse in here, so all's well. How exciting that you're about to build your own horse barn! Enjoy!!

I do! My little cottage was once a barn. It's been added onto (sun porch to the left, "office" and then "porch" to the right) but the center part was all barn. When I had the old loft ladder replaced and widened the hole in the floor to accommodate "real" stairs, my poor contractor discovered old hay, pigeon poo and a dehydrated bat under the floorboards, in what was the old hay loft floor! Now I sleep in my old fashioned spool bed under the sloping eaves, and dream big dreams for my 3/4 acre farm.

Now you two need a nice old fashion wind mill to sit next to your barns!

Cris.. I love it! What a happy place in the world!

Ginny... you should see "my" windmills. My neighbor has a huge collection of Eclipse windmills. I see them out my bedroom window. He's going to donate the collection to our town, and they'll all be moved to the Fair Grounds. That's going to be a happy day for the city, and a sad day for me.
