Jonni that is her leotard from gymnastics. We are thinking of enrolling her in ballet too. She loves dancing so much. Any thoughts? I know you trained as a dancer. Is it a healthy environment mentally or scary like some of the movies make it out to be? I'm know it sounds weird to worry now but I need to think ahead and be prepared incase she gets passionate about it

I would enroll her, Alee--just make sure she's having fun. There will (or should be) some structure to the classes, but if you find that she isn't enjoying herself, or if there is a climate of competitive quality among the mothers, then I would find another location. Children Nora's age have a natural ability to move and to hear rhythms, and if she finds joy in movement, I wouldn't hesitate to enroll her. Honestly, the children take their cues from the mom's, and if momma is a stage mom, then the wee girl will have ego, too and that can make anything unenjoyable!
It can be very healthy--especially if you, as a mom, are vigilant. At this age, she should be carefree--it's only when you get to the "tween" years that things start heating up and the body awareness issues can happen and it seems, depending on the academy, it can either create a child with self esteem, dedication and discipline to all avenues of her life, or it could, quite literally, remove any trace of self esteem they might have had and instill insecurity and a need to try to perfect oneself (but that's impossible, as we know) and perpetuate a sense of "not good enough" unless monitored. I would recommend visiting a few dance academy's, if you have that option and observe the classes for Nora's age group. Often, you will find a teacher and a few teenage helpers, which I think is a good scenario for little ones. Everyone gets attention.
Our neice, Ava, took ballet and didn't care for it after a year--she might return to it later, but she prefers tumbling and gymnastics, right now. I think she found it a bit boring :) I recall that my mother put me into ballet class when I was 3 and I continued to take class until I was 9 and decided I didn't want to....and then I met the right teacher and that's when I started my pre-professional training that led me on to my career. So, the right teacher is key, but that's for later :)
