I cannot find fresh, unfrozen organic meat. There are times when I need a select piece of meat for another purpose and would like to re-freeze a portion. For example, if I want hamburger patties but wouldn't eat all that I can get out of a pound or two of ground beef can the meat be re-froze or would it have to be cooked first? Why can't you go to a butcher and pick out organic pieces of meat in a case just like you can non-organic? Do I live in too small of a market area?

Hook up with an organic beef, chicken, pig, farmer. Maybe you could buy a half an animal, pay the farmer to have it butchered the way you want, then you would have it fresh and freeze it in the portions you want. I would never, ever refreeze meat. I know that most of the meat you buy in a grocery store is previously frozen. But I don't unthaw it myself then refreeze unless it's cooked.
