Oh, HEATHER! THANK YOU, DEAR FRIEND!!! Lisa (Nubidane) texted me a little while ago (now, last night) telling me I’d better get on MaryJane’s Farm because I was just named FGOM… I thought for SURE she was mistaken. I haven’t been able to post like I used to, and it has been months! But when she told me it was you… I knew. My heart became very warm, and tears formed in my eyes. This is just such a wonderfully sweet thing you have done for me; such an HONOR. Thank you so much for thinking of me. I had my “Sally Field” moment, cried for a little bit and then sat down to figure out just what to say. I started typing, woke up drooling down my cheek. Lol. It’s been a long day. Every day has been lately. When I fall asleep, I fall asleep hard, what can I say? And Heather… I did get your email this morning. I cried again. I don’t know why you chose me, sister; but I am so thankful.
Here’s the thing: this Sisterhood is just the most amazingly special gift. God bless MaryJane for bringing us all together, and God bless all of you, my sisters, for all you have done to help me through this insanely unexpected time in my life. The amazing thing about this sisterhood is not only the amazing women who inspire us, but also the true friendships we make that last. The best friends are the ones who, no matter how much time has passed, you can pick up right where you left off, and it’s as if time stood still. That’s how I feel about you, Heather… About ALL of you, sisters! We are all so blessed to have each other... So blessed to come together like this.
And yes, I truly agree with you, Heather, and believe this honor is something every one of us should have – how COULD we pick just one? So, I was thinking... let’s let THIS month - August - be a SPECIAL month about ALL of us…
A “FARMGIRLS ARE ALL FARMGIRLS OF THE MONTH” kind of month.
A month to celebrate those of us in the forefront, and those of us whom God alone sees…all alike…
because farmgirls are just simply amazing. Period.
Pretend it’s not “my” month.. but ALL of ours.

Heather (nndairy)(again)(LOL)... because of your loving dedication in all she does and to all those she loves, because of her strong will to persevere, because of her heartfelt kindness, love and generosity. You're such a sweetheart, so willing to share, so kind and thoughtful and warm-hearted. Such a loving, gentle soul. I just love and adore you, sister!
Lisa (Nubidane)... because you is a wealth of canning and fermenting knowledge, because of her love of her dogs, because of her common sense and wisdom… because of her faithfulness to friendship, and knowing how to make me laugh on a daily basis! I don't know where I would be without you! God bless you, my dear friend. Love you to bits! (I still can't believe you knew that joke! LOL!) (And OMG! Bella just received Annie's gift! She is so excited! Thank you both!!! LOL!
Darlene R (darlenelovesart)… because you have been the most faithful friend, prayer warrior/partner and farmgirl sister, full of encouragement, always thinking of others, always sharing a good word, always celebrating life and loved ones. And your faith is rock-solid awesome. Love you! God bless you!
Darlene (Healing Touch)… because you are just that: a healing touch to the heart of all of us. I love reading your posts, you have sent me some of the most precious gifts, and I have received a lot of strength and love from you over the years. You are an amazing woman of faith and grace. Maddie (fille de ferme)... because of your gentle thoughtfulness and kindness. Sister, I still look at the lovely little sparkly Madonna and Child card you made me every single night and smile and think of you. It’s right there, still hanging from my bedpost. Starletta (Star-Schipp)... because you were such a great prayer partner, and because you are so informative and love sharing your knowledge. I’ve learned so much from you! And you just happen to have the coolest name, ever! Love and hugs, sister!
CJ... because of your kind heart and strength in perseverance; because of her amazing aprons that save my clothes, hold my clothespins, keeps me from losing my cell phone on a regular basis, and keeps me and all the young ladies in my life connected. We don’t need traveling pants – we’ve got CJ’s aprons! CJ - You're the best, "cous," and I love you dearly!
Gracie (Katmom) – because, well, Gracie, you’re the epitome of farmgirl spirit. Full of laughter, full of love, full of putting things in positive perspective. So thoughtful, so full of surprises. You are hands-down the most delightful farmgirl in the barn! The coolest camper in the glamper. Farmgirl purrrr-fection! Love you, girl!
Nicole (Texdane), because you’re simply amazing in all you do, and your love knows no bounds. You enjoy everything farmgirl, and when you jump into something, you do it with both feet, not holding your breath, just waiting to grab the splash. I think you’re amazing, and am truly blessed to be able to call you friend. Love you dearly!
Sara (YellowRose)… because you truly are a Yellow Rose of Friendship. You teach and share from the most loving, deepest places in your heart and we all are better farmgirls because of you! Love you, sister! God bless you!
Winnie (Red Tractor Girl)… because you are the Ambassador Farmgirl of Farmgirls. You love apples and autumn, so you have me right there, LOL. But you’re also a wealth of knowledge, a welcoming heart, a farmgirl extraordinaire. So kind, so thoughtful, so generous. We all just love you!

Hope you all are getting a break in the heat. I woke up one morning last week with thus autumnal feeling and then we had a few days of "cool" weather in the low 80's. At the park today, we noticed some of the tree leaves turning color already! Saw these same early changes last year. Crazy stuff!

MaryJane - I LOVE the apron (the fabric is the best!) and thank you for the issue of MJF Magazine. I'm thinking I might try to do some sort of framed shadowbox display and put everything together up on my office wall! Thank you so, so, much! You'll never know how much I adore these gifts and what they mean to me. And most of all, thank you for this awesome Farmgirl Connection, and giving me these AWESOME farmgirl sisters. Life is better because of ALL of you! Bless you! Love you to bits!
Gracie - I just love the treats you sent! Thank you! The lavender sachet smells lovely and I adore the kitty quilt pillow - so adorable, and it smells so good, too! You are just so talented! And you just KNOW I love the little apron... I want to make a whole garland of them to hang above my kitchen window! And I assure you I will use the crocheted potholder to good use! Purple is my secret favorite color!!! You're the best! Just so, so thoughtful. Thank you so, so much!!!! And I haven't responded to your email yet because I need time to do so... I will. I will. But - thank you. Your words were exactly what I needed to hear. Why it is easy to tell others but so hard to remember that God's Word is for yourself, I will never understand. But... Darlene - I just LOVE the "tea-bag" with the assortment of teas you sent! That is so different and so awesome! I actually think I might keep it in my purse when we are on the road going back and forth to my hubby's appointments! It will be great to have them on hand! I have my hubby's work thermos to tote plenty of hot water, and our son gave us each HUGE thermal travel mugs at Christmas! Your tea cozy is just the perfect compliment to complete my much-needed tea break ensemble! It's going to be tough deciding what tea to try first! LOL! And I just love the little "Be Still And Know That I AM God" magnet - that is something I find myself saying an awful lot, lately, to be sure. And I will be framing those prayer cards... Thank you. And Winnie... Oh my GOSH! I love everything you've sent, too! The FGOM flour sack towel with the tractor on it - be still my heart! I LOVE IT! Will treasure THAT forever!!! And I love the potholder! Just like the ones we made as kids! There's nothing like them! AWESOME! And I just adore the hanky with the teas and MaryJane's Creamer coaster - that is just so cool. I will definitely keep that hanky handy... it will definitely cheer me up whenever I need to use it, cuz I will think of you, and I will know I am loved. :) I'm dying to try that cranberry rose vanilla tea - three of my favorites all rolled into one! Will be saving that for special quiet time so I can savor every sip, for sure! And the postcard of your Mom - THAT is the coolest! She sure was something back in the day, huh? You will NEVER know just how much this has meant to me. I'm definitely feeling the love! And I am so grateful to have such wonderful farmgirl sisters with whom to celebrate life AND each other! It is such a blessing to be part of this wonderful sisterhood of awesome women! When I think about all of the wonderful friends I've made here, it brings tears to my eyes and warmth to my heart. You've all taught me so much, you've all given me so much... you've all made me such a better person, a better FARMGIRL, just for knowing you; and you've filled my heart in ways I never imagined possible. Thank you. I value each and every one of you farmgirl sisters. The best in you shines bright and somehow becomes the best in us. You're amazing! God bless you, each and every one!
So.. Now it's time to pass the apron... I wish I could choose ALL of you... I think all of us realize how hard this choice is to make. I have about 50 or so farmgirl names floating around in my head and in my heart, if not more; so it makes this super hard for me today. But I've given it a LOT of thought, and I really want to share it with this particular farmgirl because over the years we have not only become friends, but she is truly like a sister to me. She is there through the ups and downs, through the thick and thin, through the laughter and the tears. And if ANYONE can pick a farmgirl up by the apron strings, help her to her feet and keep her focused and laughing through the tough times, it's my wonderful farmgirl sister - and yours:

Seriously: thank you. You're such a warm and wonderful farmgirl. I KNOW you've touched many of our farmgirl sisters' lives, just like you have mine. | Oh my Goodness! I really can't believe that stinker Nini!! I don't feel worthy. Other than being able to can, ferment, and grow quite the weed garden, I'm lacking in so many other Farmgirl skills. Can't sew or craft to save my life, but I will try to uphold this honor to its highest standard. Thank you all for your well wishes.
