What do you do when a project gets frustrating or complicated? Do you muddle through or step away? Let it get lost in the mountainesk pile UFOs? Or??? I am on round 25 of a 26 round doily and I have done it for times and can't seem to comprehend it. I'm ready to rip the whole thing out. LOL! So, what do you do when things like this happen?

Put it down and walk away from it for awhile Jessie. It will look much easier tomorrow. You are to close to finishing it to put it in the UFO pile.

Good Luck

This is what I did with the doily I was crocheting. Got to be where I couldn't figure out the stitches. I cut the string and made it a small one. Then I went back and started over. I finished two this year.

Step away from it for the evening and the go back to it. I only allow myself 2 working projects at a time. And When my UFO's get to be too many I have a "finishing day". And get them all wrapped up.

I agree end it where you get lost, or put a different pattern on the last row to finish it.

I had to call in reinforcements! I set it down for a couple of days and then took it to my Mom for a different perspective. Come to find out, the pattern had an error in it and Mom was able to figure out what was supposed to be there. HOORAY! I finished it up while at her house in case I ran into another snafoo! Thank you all for the encouragement! I get so ready to rip what little is left of my hair out when things like this happen. :P

I enjoyed working on it. Haven't done one myself for a while.
Jess gives me inspiration! Can't stand to let something get the better of me either.

beautiful and yeah for you for persevering and finding a way to get it done, so it won't wind up as a UFO. i started crocheting and knitting again. Therapy, great therapy.
i have ripped a couple of projects apart because i just didn't like the way it was going. i was never able to do that before, but i would rather enjoy what i am doing than feel like i HAVE to do it.

I ripped out one tonight after row 20. I couldn't put my finger on why it wasn't right, but I jsut knew it. Even as I was stitching, it turned decidedly into one something I wasn't going to like, so starting over on a pattern was much better. I'd love to see pics of what you are working on. :)

Wow, your doilies are absolutely gorgeous Jessie. Amazing work. I would be frustrated with those at times too I am sure, I have never attempted a doily though.
