Praying Mantis are so interesting aren't they?
Did you live in Spokane Gracie when we had the Praying Mantis Plaque (sp)? It would have been 1971 or 1972. They came by the Hordes. I worked at The Cresent Department Store and you would walk into the Restrooms and their would be hundreds laying all over the floor. They came in through the Ventilation System. And at my Apartment (back when we had screen doors) they would be clinging to the Screen, literally hundreds of them. You just felt creeped out. It was like a Twilight Zone Episode. LOL
I like Praying Mantis One at a Time, not hundreds and thousands all over the City.
See, you brought back yet another Spokane Memory. LOL
Hugs and Smiles, Peggy

Oh PeggyAnn, I can happily say, NO and thank goodness! lol! I like a couple, or even a few... but wall to wall,,, Nope Nope Nope! You worked at the Cresent? How Kool! I have a vtg. hat in a box, the hat & box have the Cresent label on it... I think they are from the 1960's... A couple of years ago, when clearing out a basement in a store, can't remember if it was the Cresent or a store next door, but they found a whole storage room of old Cresent stuff, not merchandise, but stuff used in the store for displays.. Wish I could remember more about the article, it was in the Spokesman Review. Yep, aren't memories grand? :>)

Great picture. I hope he was taking in the sun and not keeled over. I'm always so happy when I see them in my garden. But, the ones I have are not that large.
Peggy, that's a great story.
