I need a teeny tiny frog to go with my gnome! And, perhaps a teeny, tiny butterfly for my fairy. Hmmmmm . . . have to go looking!

I haven't looked at our Walmart for any of those items, but I'd be very surprised if they had any! I'll still look next trip!

Here are my mini-gardens.

The gnome with his funny frog friend, with rosemary, spicy basil and English thyme in his garden. He's standing by a piece of petrified coral.

He has a bird in his right hand and a garden trowel in his left. He stands about 4 1/2 inches to the top of his hat.

My fairy garden with viola flowers and Calibrachoa, a teeny tiny teacup/saucer (they are one piece)and some "sparkly rocks".

Little fairy sleeping on a 'shroom', she is about 3 1/2 inches to the tip of her wings.

CeeJay your mini gardens rock!!!

I finished my today. It's totally different than I had planned. I wanted a farm scene with tiny aprons flapping in the wind instead I have a cowboy cactus roping a Texas Horned Toad mini garden.

It all started when I went to the Salvation Army this morning. There it was a wee green cactus with cowboy hat, bandana, boots, pistols, and a real lasso out of twine. For 50 cents Pecos Pete came home with me.

The garden is in a 9" round cream & green enamelware dish. Pecos Pete has roped my rusty iron Texas Horned Toad. The horned toad is almost as big as the cowboy cactus. I added a small barrel cactus with 3 babies and leaves of my jade plant. As the jade takes root and grows I will transplant it and start new plants.

Have a blessed day, Sara

Here in Montana it is still too cold to fully plant a fairy garden but I have the beginnings. I have two fairy gardens that come inside each winter so this year I thought it would be fun to change a flowerbed into a fairy village. I am starting to put out my houseplants that stay out during the summer for daytime sun then lugging them in for the nights. I also have bought a few more decorations, including a camper for the fairies. So is the start of our village but it will be a work in progress for a few more weeks.

Here are pictures of the simple gnome garden my grandsons Richard and Phillip made for their mother (Michelle - midnitesun on MJFG) for Mother's Day! They did a great job with just a little help from me.

The boys are so handsome, and you can really see how proud they are of their creation. And they have good reason to feel proud -- it's awesome!
