Hi! My name is Wanda and I'm new here. To introduce myself I just copied what I put on my website because it pretty much covers everything - Southern… right side up, upside-down, inside-out…Southern. Sometimes translated Texan. Country… “Cotton-Eyed-Joe” and all that. “Y’all,” “Over yonder,” “Bless its little heart,” and “Fixin’ to” are all part of everyday conversation. Nature lover. All things wild and beautiful. Christian to the bone…’nuff said. Information junkie – according to my cousin. It’s a genetic disease, I think, since said cousin is also similarly afflicted. Collector of, uh, many books (due to the above mentioned affliction). My most treasured book being my Bible. Walker…Lord how I do love to walk. Lover of all creatures non-‘human.’ Be it a teensy insect, a great big critter, or anything in-between, if it needs help or a home – it’s got it.
Right now I'm trying to figure out how things work here so, if I make a goof, I hope y'all will understand. :)

Thanks Shannon! Actually, I'm a little nervous. The more I look around, the more overwhelmed I feel. This is a really big group!

Howdy, a big neighborly welcome from Paris, Texas that is. Born & raised in TX, but I have no idea where Hallettsville is. Loved the way you introduced yourself. Pretty much covered all our pet phases and our deep faith in the Lord.
Have a blessed day, Sara FarmGirl Sister #6034 8/25/14 Lord put your arm around my shoulders and your hand over my mouth.

Wanda - I suggest you just jump in where you are comfortable, as you are comfortable. Also, there is an "active topics" button on top, that helps you see what has been commented on since the last time you were on... when I first started on the forum, that really helped me narrow things down, and then i would slowly expand and look at other topics as well. I'm sure you will get the hang of it and be more comfortable soon!

Hi! backatcha, Sara! I was born in Jacksonville, Texas and have lived in Texas all my life. Glad to hear we've got some things in common. ** Hallettsville is sort of in the lower center of the triangle formed by Houston/Austin/Victoria. The home of the Texas State Fiddlers Championship the end of April **
Thanks so much for the help, Shannon, and for the encouragement. I hope you're right! :) |

Thank you, Marly. I love the quote on your post. I think the Lord impressed that on me at an extremely early age when I lost my brother and mother. It's been with me every day since. |

I know of the fiddlers contest but have never attended. I live in Paris ~~ Sort of due north of you along the Red River.

OooWee, Sara! You're wa-ay up there. I was thinking south -- until I realized it was Paris and not Pearland. :)
One of my favorite parts of the fiddle competition is the little ones. Even though they have 'down-sized' fiddles the fiddle still looks bigger than the fiddler. As for the grown-ups, there are a few favorites and when their turn comes the whole place bounces. If you think you hear, "WooHoo!!" drifting up your way on April 25, it will probably be me you hear and you'll know the fiddlin' has begun. :) |

Hi Wanda! I'm new too, and it took me 8 months to write my first post! But I've received such a warm welcome and lots of great tips on getting rolling. We can learn together! I've never been to Texas but have two cousins who live there. I'm gonna get there someday!!:)

Thank you, MaryJane!
And thank you for the gift of the black cherry tomato seeds. When they come up I plan to share some plants with my daughter and her friend. |

Hi Wanda! I loved your intro and that fiddler's competition sounds like the best time ever! And just like everyone else has already said, everyone here is really nice (and helpful), so just jump in wherever you want to! :)

Hi Wanda And big wet, rain, and hail, spring welcome from the north west. I like joining the swap... you get to know a person more on a one to one. I also love to make and share my art and other hobbies with other gals. So fun. I like your intro.
