Hi from Texas, Cynthia! I don't have air conditioning either, and everyone thinks I'm crazy. But the stuff gives me a headache and makes me feel bad, so... Happy to meet you. Hope you'll stop in often.

Welcome Cynthia! I think it's funny how AC has become such a big part of everyday life. If you listen to people talk about going without AC, I wonder how on earth I grew up in Utah without it. It does seem that since I never had it I'm less sensitive to heat. I do know though that humid heat is a whole 'nuther creature. Anyway, welcome!

Yes ma'am, MaryJane, "humid heat is a whole 'nuther creature"! I hear people say they would "pass out" if they had to go without AC, because their bodies have become so used to it. But, at least for myself, I've solved that problem in the south Texas heat...I stuff my pockets with 'sweat wipers' - never am without 'em - and then I just wipe 'n go. :)

Hi Cynthia, I'm so happy to meet you! Your life sounds wonderful, simple and full of rewards. I like to make stuff out of old stuff also, and hope to learn to make at least one quilt in my lifetime! So glad you're here!

Welcome back, Cynthia! We have AC upstairs only, and rarely turn it on. Mostly if my mom comes to visit in the middle of summer. Happy to have you back with us! :)
