Excited to try the homemade apple cider vinegar recipe in this month's issue, but I have one question...can it be used for pickles? I know it has to have a certain acidity. Didn't know but if I let it age long enough it might be strong enough.

I got the magazine today and saw that, havent had a chance to read it yet, maybe tomorrow because I am exhausted. When it cools off outside I'll sit out side with my Mary Jane mag :)

Hi Lorena,
It’s best to use homemade ACV as a tonic, mixed into salad dressings, and for other general-purpose applications. If you do decide you want to try to make pickles with it, makes sure the pH is at least 4, if not lower. To be sure of the acidity, you can purchase pH test strips like these from amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Strips-Universal-Application-strips/dp/B00X9D4JS4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1436850196&sr=8-3&keywords=food+pH+strips
