You ladies are inspiring me to get started on my merit badges again. I've only completed one or two - years ago. The letter writing one is first on my list and I love love love the idea of a new tea merit badge. I'm sort of a tea-aholic. Tea-hoarder. Tea-who**!! Giggle. My hubs just rolls his eyes, but always embraces my stroll down the tea aisle at any market we visit. I have cupboards overflowing with tea bags, loose teas, tea cups, tea cookies, etc. Is my candy store. Second addiction to my pretty paper fetish. Guilty. Thank you for the motivation and inspiration.

A tea badge is a great idea…pie too! I could master pie crust and making it look good maybe! Lol

I have a goal for getting badges this year too. I don’t think I put a number of badges, but maybe I should! Lol. I am working on the Lost Art of Letter Writing now. :)

Karen :)

Hi Hannah - I love your tea badge idea too. I had suggested a few merit badge ideas under the "suggestions" forum. There is a topic called "Adding to badges again...". You might like to list your ideas there too, so that MaryJane's team can consider them for next year. I thought the tea badge was a great idea. I had originally thought we could call it the "tea for two" badge.

Debbie, I made a snicker doodle pie. It was pretty yummy. I would like to try a fruit pie next.

Karen, that was my same thought lol! My pie crust could use some work.

Thank you, ladies, for the positive feedback. I truly do think it would be a fun badge to earn if it ever got selected.

Krista and Cindy- Thank you for the info on formally presenting a suggestion. I will try and see what happens!

I am so excited to be working on badges again. I have missed the excitement of it and I've missed the interaction.

Hannah, you and me both! My break from working on badges has turned out to be way longer than I had hoped. I’m off this morning to work on my Stained Glass badge! All of this merit badge talk has me excited again! I would be all in for a tea badge :)
Krista, that pie sounds really good! What’s not to love about snickerdoodles???

I'm all for a tea badge!!!! It's the second best drink in my opinion - after hot chocolate, of course LOL!

There's a stained glass badge?!? That sounds fun! My first order of business is to apply for the badges I've already completed. I'm terrible at that part of it!

Hilary - snickerdoodles are a wonderful cookie covered with cinnamon and sugar. They're usually a Christmas treat around here. I bet it would be a fantastic pie!

Heather, I am so surprised you haven't come up with some sort of hot chocolate badge yet ha ha!

Oh Hilary, you really need to try one. They are such yummy cookies. They are my husbands favorite, so we have them quite often.

Debbie, a stained glass badge sounds so fun. I am excited to hear how it goes for you and see what you make.

I just placed an order for some calligraphy supplies for the calligraphy badge, some new stationary supplies for the Lost art of letter writing badge, and some quilling supplies for the quilling badge. I am so excited to get started!

Heather, I think that you get to create your own truffle flavors for the expert level for that badge!

Farmgirls, I too need to get back to some badge work. My last two were in 2020 and since then I have been lazy! I think about it all the time but never get organized and start doing it. You all are reminding me I need to make a plan and then do it!

Me too, Winnie. I know I could just write some up and submit them. I did put the chocolate book on hold at the library as that badge sounds delicious!

I have started on my Beginner Calligraphy Badge and also my Beginner Quilling Badge. I have started practicing my calligraphy, but still need to read the book. I also started making different shapes with my quilling paper and even started my small design. This is a really fun badge! I have also started my UFO badge. I just need to finish my first UFO to apply for the beginner badge.

I also purchased supplies for my Lost Art of Letter Writing Beginner Badge. I just need to get them organized in my basket. I am using an old basket I used to keep my magazines in. I hope it works how I envision it.

How is your letter writing basket going, Krista?

I finally got 3 of the badges I am working on applied for, so I am feeling accomplished today! Hehe!
