WOO HOO! Another UFO DONE! I finished the binding on my Black/White stars quilt. I am donating it to my neighbor for a raffle to benefit their newly formed Family Ministry. I hope it brings a good amount to help support their ministry. I will post a picture later.

Judith when I was first learning to embroidery around 8 years old I never liked to do pillow cases or dresser scarves. I didn't and still don't like to do the same design twice. Once I see the finished product I am ready to move on to something totally new.

The only way I ever completed a pair of pillow cases or any repetitive pattern was to embroidery one color at a time over the entire design or all pieces.

I get that, Sara! This set of pillow cases happens to be for sofa or decorative pillows. If you would like to see them. They are from Sublime Stitching and are called Shy Girl (I'm working on now) and Shy Boy! They are a fun design; but, I'll be glad to finish.

I actually completed a UFO this weekend! A small throw pillow for DS - his room is an outer space theme and when we got his bedding I chose not get to get both throw pillows with the set - darling though they both were. I got one and then I DIY'd the other! :)

Here is the link - the one I made is the orange square pillow with the rocket theme embroidery! I had it embroidered over a year ago but due to issues with my sewing machine I let it sit. Had the brainstorm of using fabric glue for the short hems and then just hand sewed the rest! Took more time than machine but should have just done it ages ago!!!

Jaime... the pillows turned out cute!
I have to laugh,,, I have seen so many DIY's where one can use different options in place of sewing... iron on hem tape,,, and fabric glue...
but like you said,,, sometimes it is just as easy and faster to sew then to glue! lolol!
One UFO done... now, do you have anymore hidden in your stash :>) if not, I can send you some of mine! lol! snork, giggle...

Hooray! Project #1 is finished...I finally got the binding sewn to this quilt! Now if I can get my bookwork done this afternoon, I can work on project #2. It's so great to see what everyone is working on and get inspired to get my projects finished!

Got my daughter's pants hemmed! Yahoo! Also got my side of our closest cleaned out, and large bag and box of clothes taken to Good Will! (Doesn't count as a UFO, but makes me feel better.) This weekend we're heading to GA! Can't wait. More UFO,s to come.

I've been out of the loop for several weeks taking care if illness in the family, and it's great to see how much everyone accomplished! I did manage to finish kntting a couple of dishcloths for swaps. Seems like my clan is finally on the mend, so I hope to get productive again. You girls inspire me! :)

Happy Day!
