For over twenty years, I have loved to make wreaths. Every once and a while I need to "refresh" my outdoor ones that I change with the seasons. When I pulled out my kitchen door wreath, it looked too grungy to use this year. So...my farmgirl project of the day today is to redo it. I have some burlap, new faux flowers (I found them at the dollar store, but they seem just as nice as the craft store), and I think I will try some dehydrated fruit...maybe we will see.
I have always loved making wreaths. I make my own grapevine form from the grapevines we have on our property. Any one else love to assemble wreaths?

Through the years I have made wreaths and like you re-do them after a couple of years. One of my favorites was one out of dried sunflowers on a store bought wreath.
One of the ways I up-date a grapevine wreath is to sponge paint it with the new color of the season. I like sponge painting because some of the vine shows through. Sometimes I water down the paint for a 'white-wash' look.

Have you ever seen the little tiny wreaths made from thin grapevine? The first year I was married, we didn't have a lot of money for Christmas ornaments and I wanted a "Victorian" themed tree, so I made my own ornaments. One set was made from little wreaths. They are only a few inches in diameter, from the craft store. I painted them a pale, ballet-slipper pink, hot glued off white lace that looked antique-y, and put a small bow at the top. I still have them and they look so cute on the Christmas tree. The whole thing cost very, very little.

Nicole, I have seen the little wreaths but have never made one. Your Victoria wreaths sound beautiful.
The wreath I have on my front door now is a yellow water hose looped around several times to make an oblong wreath. Cut off excess hose - enough for another wreath. It's decorated with a wooden bird house and faux large leave ivy.

Nicole, I used lock-ties - large twists ties should work too. Just covered them up with the ivy and birdhouse. The large metal end of the hose hangs down a little bit and is part of the decorations.
The yellow hose is the same color as shutters so it suits my 'country' front porch. It would be perfect for your shed.

I love wreaths! Right now the only ones I have are Christmas ones. I have so many other "goodies" to hang for decorations for other seasons. But that doesn't mean I won't be making more.
I have made farm-y, western ones from barbed wire, which looked cool but I don't have them any longer. I had used bandanas, some rope, etc. on them.
Sara, your hose wreath sounds adorable.

I've just completed a few rag wreaths!! I have kept one and have given the rest away- and my family loves them. And so easy to make.
A few years back I got some old rust barbed wire that was from my grandparents farm and made a wreath from that. It hangs on my shed and looks so great- I just change out the bows for the seasons.
