Just curious how many own a serger sewing machine and what kind of sewing projects you use it for? I have been sewing for 40+ years but new to serger sewing machines and I am slow to start as it feels a little intimidating. I would love to hear from others with helpful suggestions to get started and usage ideas.

I have had one for 40 years I would have loved to have it when my kids were little but didn't I make quilts, knit fabric clothes, polar fleece things, stuffed animals. They can be intimidating you just have to watch for the cutters and forget about pins.

I have had a serger for about 15 years, and I really didn't use it at first. I use it more now - mostly for pillowcases and other smaller craft projects. It is hard to use it for projects that require pinning.

I also use the serger for adding ruffles to aprons. It does that wonderfully.

I bought a serger 9 years who and finally used it two years ago. Thredding it is impossible. I had to take it back to store to thread it. Now the tension is off and no idea how to adjust it. So now it has sat unused for a 1and1/2 years. I need a class on how to thread it!
