Good morning.

I'm putting together some items for the NICU at Williamson County Medical. My niece was there for 50 days and we became aware of some needs there. The nurses donate receiving blankets because the ones provided by the hospital are too rough. Would anyone like to join me in putting some things together for them? Flannel receiving blankets, knit/crochet premie and newborn caps and booties would be a great place for us to start. I would like to deliver to them the first week in December. Please let me know if you are interested in joining me in this.

Much love,

Anna

I don't knit but I can commit to sewing six 36 x 36 flannel receiving blankets for you (I do it all the time as baby gifts). I just ordered the fabric and once it arrives it shouldn't take long to sew. Please send me your mailing address that I can send them too once I have completed the project. jmemhardt@gmail.com

Hi Anna, I was so hoping others would step forward to help you with your quest. Regardless you can count on me and I found so many cute flannel fabrics on the internet yesterday that I am upping my donation to 8 blankets. Maybe it is for the preemie babies, to cheer up the families and staff, or maybe it is the connection that I have toward your name as it is the same as my grandmother.

Thank you for your offer, that is so nice of you, and can I be the first to say welcome to MJF. It looks like you and I are both newbies to the farm. I started in July 2016, and I also didn't post in the welcome wagon section. A friend recommended this group and although I felt out of place being a small city gardener/crafter I love the group for making me feel so welcome. I hope you have a good experience, enjoy the new friends and great conversations here at MJF.

I can definitely make crochet hats and booties but my only hold up is that I am due soon and already have plenty on my plate that I fear I won't have them completed in time. If you plan on delivering a second time let me know and I will see what I can do for that one. Sorry I can't be of more help. I hope you can find others who can help out. Welcome to the group Anna!

You are amazing!!! Thank you so much!!! I will send and post pictures when we deliver everything. Do you think your friend who knits caps would be willing to share her pattern? I would love to gather some patterns for blankets and other things to help make it easier for people who wanted to donate. The blankets are beautiful. I can't wait to see them! Thank you for being so generous!

Jana, I love your fabrics! They will be perfect for the NICU babies! The elephants are my favorite.

Krista - I was afraid those two fabrics might be to bright and bold, but I loved it too. So much so that I just ordered more of the same fabric this week when I saw it on sale again. When are you due and would you like one, pink or blue? I can't sew it until after Thanksgiving, but I am series if you want one I will ship one off to you December 5th if you give me your mailing address. All I ask of you and Anna is a Etsy review once I get my Etsy store up and running by summer or sooner if I can pinpoint a cute company name that is available on both the internet and etsy (it is harder then you think).

LittleBit - thanks for the compliment and sewing is second nature for me as I have been sewing for 48 years and I am still loving it!
