Oh yes, we decorated and hosted family front Florida. Tonight we're snuggled in for New Years eve. Temps will be down to 0 degrees.

My sweetie, Fang, doesn't know this but I have plans for a forlorn little building that is tucked behind one of the garages. If we could pull it downhill, cut windows in the sides, & nail white siding on it, it would be a cute garden shed, surrounded by raised beds.

The recent storm left a clean blanket of snow. I leave seeds down the hill along the trendline.

Alrighty then! Last week we had a contractor install drywall & insulate and cover the ceiling, plus add more outlets in the basement where my mother-in-law will live. Yesterday we bought paint & supplies, then he took apart the pool table (which came with the house) and I taped the edges. We'd planned to post the pool table on Offer Up, but it was so heavy, and the basement door is so small that we wouldn't have been able to remove it. I've decided to make a raised bed out of part of it, a potting table with the main part, and use the pockets for hanging plants.
Deer at our back door. I couldn't throw the feed very far.

Below is the floating floor that we've installed. My husband is only posing. He got too impatient to help.

It is beautiful Vanessa!!! Everything seems to be moving along nicely despite the weather!! We lived in a tiny one bedroom RV for THREE years on our 65 acre homestead and JUSt got our home built this past October! Moved in and we are STILL working on things that needed done but we did get a nice garden going the past two years! Can not wait until the barn gets built and we get our chickens and horses!! I so wish you the best!!!

What an adventure for you! It is wonderful to have a brand new home of your own. I love our home, it has just enough little things to fix to keep us busy. The next big expense will be a deck off the sunroom (it's up high because we're on a slope) and installing a French door to it. I plan to celebrate every October 2 as Homecoming Day.

Today everything was glazed like a Krispy Irene doughnut. Even the gates in our fence were frozen! It was cold, wet, and gray. Then in the afternoon the sun broke through to highlight the icy trees.

My sweetie gave me a biiiig box of chocolates from Ruth Hunt Chocolates, made right here in Kentucky. Our cat Shrek is demanding some kitty treats before I get my people treats.

Vanessa, it is such fun to see your dream come true. Your cat and mine must be in the same family. Their treats before yours. Lol. Marie would like you to live in Minnesota but I think Kentucky has less stressful weather. Enjoy those chocolates!

I wish she could move here, it would be great for our creativity but too much craziness for our other halves. Tonight the temperature is up to 67 and I heard froggies (I think) peeping in the distance.

On a recent visit to my parents, we were gifted with several things. This is a quilt cover my mom had bought from a Vietnamese lady. Its partly machine sewn, partly hand sewn. The earthtones are perfect for our bedroom. The details of each block are amazing. Mom also gave me wanna bulbs and four o' clock and lavender seeds. They also gave us 2 spare carboys, so we will begin making wine.

This is a plaque I found in a thrift store in Black River Falls, WI. Today I finally hung it up on the back side of a garage and it will hold bird seed. I may put a little roof over it later.

I discovered hyacinths growing wild across the road near our mailbox. Fang also sprayed weed killer on some in our front yard, but now I know of them they are protected.

I just want my sister to live with me in Minnesota because I am too lazy to go down to see her. I may visit this summer. Indeed, when we sisters get together it is so much like when we were kids. Now as adults, we understand each other so much that we are almost telepathic. Our husbands are almost exact opposites.

Hurray for spring! The weather has warmed up, the trees are in leaf and I'm planting flowers. I keep humming "My Old Kentucky Home" and breathe in the fresh air and relax in the peace and quiet.
