Nope... this time we will take our time and be a bit more fussy about what we are looking for...
We are even toying with the idea of moving into town... for a miryad of reasons....
But we do so love living on acerage... so it is a tuff nut to crack as to what to do. But in the mean time we'll live out on our daughters ranch for a month in their ginormous 5th wheel trailer..... that's about all my DH can handle...lol!
If we don't find something by the end of Sept., then we'll move into a rental and test the waters for living in town... and resume search in the Spring.
Either way it will be an adventure .....

Yahoo and congratulations Grace! This sounds like such an exciting new adventure for you. Does your daughter live in Spokane or one of the areas near? I have friends that just bought last year in Newport (about 30 minutes north of Spokane). We haven't been up there yet, but hope to do a road trip next summer to check the state out with our daughter.

Jana,,, we use to live out on what is called the "West Plains" all farmland,,,, but we had a Spokane address as we were unincorporated.
We want to either target there or a stretch of area along the Spokane River.
Either way,, we are just so glad to be heading back.

CeeJay & Krista,,, awww,,, all the new mischief we will be getting into! (again!) lol!

Well,, Murphy's Law strikes again!!!

This morning the water heater went out,,,yepadoodle,,, right in the midst of 3 loads of laundry,,, and I was planning on showering after I finished up around the property,,, go figure!!!
So what is a resourceful farmgirl to do??? she washes her hair in the sink with tap/cool water,,, then she goes out to the back yard, fills up 2 buckets of water,,, one to soap and shave her legs and the 2nd one to rinse off the soap...
So here it is almost 5:30pm and still no plumber... seems everyone is having a plumbing emergency... So I guess I will talk a very quick cold shower...
After all,,, tomorrow morning I don't want the poor souls sitting next to me on the plane to pass out from my farmgirl sweat!!! lololol!

ok,,, I am back.... and tomorrow we have to drive up to town to sign Escrow papers,,, getting closer to the big move date,,,
I opened a P.O. Box back in Spokane and gave my daughter the spare key so she can gather up our mail...
I also looked at both property as well as a couple of homes in town... When DH and I get back there we will hit the house hunting trail and if we don't find the perfect house or property we will rent something until Spring..
I love adventures!

Grace...I am excited for your EXCITEMENT and New Adventure. Like I've shared
before I think Spokane is a nice place to be from. LOL But I know the Grand kids and daughter are a Huge Pull for you and hubby. And you are right...there are other farmgirls there and in Cour d'Alene (sp that looks wrong lol). I just got back from visiting my Mom in Spokane a couple of months ago. Seems like yesterday. She lives on the Northside right across from 5-Mile. She has been there in that same house for 50+ years. To me Spokane never changes or if it does it is so slowly you hardly notice the difference. :P

Have FUN packing and sorting and down-sizing! There is always several pluses to making a move...and getting rid of things is one of them.

God Bless and Enjoy those Grandkids!!!

Hugs and Smiles,
Peggy

Yeah, so glad you are coming back this way. Do not buy in Airway Heights. Look up the terrible toxic chemical water problems from the military base on the internet. It permeated the water table. They are still months later delivering bottled water to those homes and business and many restaurants had to close because it is ill advised to even wash dishes or shower with the contaminated water and wells. Those home values have plummeted. It is a nightmare! Take care now, and remember just ten minutes past Liberty Lakes is Idaho, way less expensive to live and wonderful smaller acreage is still available. We have so many folks from Spokane drive over the border to shop for groceries because taxes are a lot less. Glad you are taking your time to make your decision. Best to you and the family! Annie

Annie,,, I had heard about the water issue in Airway Heights...
I use to live out on the west plains near Medical Lake,,, in fact a decade before we bought our house it was with in the Medical Lake boundries,,, but the boundries got pushed back to accommodate the new road that was being put in buy the county.... anyhow... we are open to several areas... and tho hubby is wanting to move into town... I am not quit on board with that... it's going to have to be a fabulous house to get me back into town.. The reason we want to stay over on the west plains is to be closer to our daughter and grandkiddos.
I do frequent Post Falls and Rathdrum for my junktiquing outings... heeheehee....
